The property comprises of a large decked balcony extending from the dining room, overlooking the patio garden below and the scenic views of the surrounding hills, all south facing and far reaching. The balcony has an outdoor sofa set ideal for lounging in the sun and outdoor lighting for relaxing in the evening. The patio garden has outdoor lighting, a BBQ and large garden table ideal for dining al fresco. Why Joby Mussell chose Croyde

I bought this property nearly 10 years ago due to its great location in the centre of the picturesque village of Croyde and close proximity to the beach. It was ideal for my love of surfing and now ideal for my youny family to share.

What makes this house unique

What makes Priory Stables so ideal is you can literally park your car up in the driveway and not need to get in it again during your stay. You can conveniently walk to the beach and all the hustle and bustle of the village. The decked balcony is a real gem, with it being south facing you can enjoy the sun all day and I have spent many days sunbathing or enjoying a sunset glass of wine.

The house was absolutely perfect for our weekend away and in such a brilliant location. Only 5 mins from the beach and local shops. House had everything we needed and more. Scones were a lovely added touch for when we arrived

Clean modern house in great location for beach and town

Did not get 5 stars because a few minor things were broken such as a door would not lock or window could not open. Also the sofa bed was awful.

Great holiday home, very spacious and well kept

A group of 12 of us stayed for two nights in this spacious and well located holiday home.

We were split between four cars and there was enough space on the driveway for us all. Upon arrival there were fresh scones, jam and cream waiting for us. Everything was sparkling clean and all facilities working perfectly.

The kitchen and living areas are very spacious and light with double doors leading onto the wooden balcony (our only very small discontent was being unable to open one of the doors - i don't think we could work out the knack to it!). There's just enough space to put up a gazebo in the garden if need be. The bedrooms are a decent size and the 4 poster bed was very comfortable and envied by others staying.

The property is very central with a one minute walk to the local shops and pubs and just ten minutes away from the beach. Would recommend stocking up on food in nearby Braunton as the local shops don't offer a huge amount of choice.

Both Joby (the owner) and Matilda (the housekeeper) were very friendly and communicative and kindly extended our check-out until 12 o'clock at no extra cost.

I would highly recommend staying to any families or groups looking for a break in Croyde and all of us would certainly stay again.

PRIORY STABLES 10 to 17 Sept. Croyde Bay

Good location. We were a bit disappointed with the house. Floors were dirty kitchen equipment some of which needs replacing as was dirty and rusty dish washer wants seeing to. Don't think the house was suitable for very small children more suited to groups of surfers would not recommend for families.

As you can see the majority of our reviews are 5 star so it is unusual for a set of guests to be unhappy with the experience, particularly families which make up the bulk of our bookings. I can only apologise if it didn't live up to standard and would have liked to have rectified any issues you had whilst you were in the property. If you felt the floors or some of the kitchen utensils were not clean I could have sent my housekeeper back in again for you.

Good location for beach stay. Very spacious

We booked this for 8 adults and 2 children for a long wedding weekend. The house was certainly spacious enough for our needs. the bedrooms and living space are of a really good size. Bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs, living space is on the first floor

Be aware that are are only 2 double and 1 twin bedroom plus the bunk room. 1 double room and the twin room have an extra single bed, but another couple would need to use the sofabed in the dining room. If you are going to need this then make sure you request the extra bedding.

Joby (owner)and Matilda (housekeeper) were extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects, allowing us early check-in with all our wedding paraphernalia! Scones, jam and cream were provided on arrival...yummy!

The kitchen and living areas are well-equipped but there is no hanging space in the bedrooms only drawers/cupboards

The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water

TV/audio/DVD/internet all good.

We did not use the outside facilities much, but we did sit on the terrace...lovely!

The house is obviously well-used but is well-maintained, clean and tidy.

I would definitely recommend for a couple of families to stay, being well located only yards from local shops and restaurants in Croyde with easy access to the beach. noise is not a problem though
