About the property

5-bedroom house, pond, gardens a mile from Nockamixon State Park with marina.

First floor includes eat-in fully equipped kitchen, livingroom, dining room, sunroom, enclosed porch, powderroom and 2 bedrooms with adjoining full bathroom. Second floor has 3 bedrooms and full bathroom. The home contains many collectibles from the owners' extensive travels in Asia, South America and Africa (which we will stow at renter's request) as well as beamed ceilings and brick fireplace. Outside is a one-acre pond for swimming and fishing, equipment for basketball, croquet and softball, a large barn and tractor, extensive flower and herb gardens, a fenced vegetable garden which renters are welcome to plant, a gas grill and lawn furniture. The property is 2.5 miles from Nockamixon State Park's marina and hiking and biking trails, 5 minutes from downtown Quakertown and 25 minutes from historic Doylestown, home of the Moravian Tile Works, Fonthill Mansion, the Mercer Museum and the James Michener Museum as well as great restaurants and an art movie theater. Convenient to both NY and Philadelphia; driving time from Center City Philadelphia is approximately 75 minutes via either Rt. 476 (PA Tpk. Northeast Extension) or Rt. 309, and from NYC 1.5-2 hours via I-78. This is a rare find: secluded but not isolated, quiet, charming, historic but modernized, comfortable and accessible.

About Debra Weiner

We bought the property as a weekend house because of its proximity to Philadelphia and have spent 32 years cultivating its natural beauty and interior charm. This year we have the opportunity to spend the entire summer at a family home on Cape Cod and want to be sure the Quakertown retreat is occupied by people who will appreciate its uniqueness and tranquility.

Debra Weiner purchased this house in 1985

Why Debra Weiner chose Quakertown

The property is totally private without being isolated. The open space around the house, invisible from the road, includes numerous bird feeders, spectacular shrubbery and flower and herb gardens as well as a near view of the pond and fenced vegetable garden. It is a perfect retreat.
