The best vacation!
It was the best vacation! Everything was just perfect, including weather :). The house is exactly as it is pictured: beautiful medieval place with added comfort of modernity. Very clean, decorated with love and preserving history of it’s inhabitants. It is located in the heart of the village just under the main tower of the fortress and the bell tower. The hosts and the owners are extremely helpful and will go above and beyond to ensure your comfort and provide the best experience. I would like to thank Marie, Lorenzo, Giuseppe and Barbara for their hospitality and warm hearts that made me feel like their family member, rather than a random visitor.
The three things to cosider when booking this place:
1- there are plenty of stairs to climb in the house and in the village itself, because it is located on the hill. Helps staying in shape, but might be difficult fir some people.
2- the bells on the bell tower strike every half an hour. If you are like me and like to sleep with windows open, be prepared to wake up with a charming and loud sound of the bell at 5:05 am :)
3- parking lot is located quite far from the house and you will have to carry your luggage up hill on medieval cobbles, so travel light.
I would definitely come back here again maybe in a yar or two and I do strongly recommend this place to anyone, who wants to experience the true taste of Tuscany!!!!
Thank you Zoulfira for your kind and informative review. It’s always great to hear that everything about your vacation was just ‘perfect’, including the weather!
It’s great to know that you loved our property and that you found it comfortable, clean and decorated with love! It was wonderful to meet you and spend some time with you, we love to get together with our guests if we can and share some of our local knowledge and insight.
Thank you for your three considerations regarding the property. The issues such as the stairs of the house and to access the property are clearly indicated in our listing and we certainly do not recommend the house for those with difficulty negotiating stairs or are less agile.
Regarding the bell tower yes, it’s very much part of the character and authenticity of a typical Tuscan town. It’s bell the that lets the locals know what time it is in the morning or for those that find themselves waking in the night!
The position of the parking lot is also clearly marked in our listing – and you are absolutely right it’s probably better to travel light if you are not used to lifting heavy cases along Medieval lanes!
We thank you for recommending Casa del Pretorio and Vicopisano for anyone looking to experience a true taste of Tuscany.
Thank you again for finding us and we truly hope to welcome you back to Vicopisano again one day in the future.

Lovely house. Well-maintained. Old world charm but comfortable.
We loved our time in Vicopisano. The town is utterly charming, with cobbled walkways, towers, and, even, a medieval fortress. We sipped cappucino on the square and wine in the front garden while watching the sunset. Marie and the property owners are friendly and helpful. There is even a very thorough guide to the town and region available in the house.
Truly enjoyed the home.
The property was beautiful and well maintained with all amenities you would expect. As others have shared you need to be prepared to carry luggage to the house up hill and some steps.
Carlo, Giuseppe and Barbara were wonderful hosts. So nice to get a chance to meet Carlo and Giuseppe. And Maria and Lorenzo provided wonderful insights on places to visit, restaurants to try and were phenomenal guides for our Vineyard tour.
It’s really satisfying to read your comments about us. We really would love to communicate closely with our guests from the time they book right up to arrival so we can assure our guests get the very best Tuscan experience. We appreciate you finding time to write us a review. We would love to have you again as our guest in the future!

Unique! Wonderful! We loved it!❤️
We spend 5 nights in this unique beautiful home and absolutely loved it! We adore the cat! Always kept track of the time thanks to the nearest church bell. ;)
The owners Welcome us so warm and sweet giving us a lot of important information. We enjoyed the fresh food from the little stores in Vicopisano and the restaurants in the nearest towns especially the one in Buti recommended and reserved for us from the owner - great food and drinks and very entertaining waitress. :)
We explore the beaches and made day trips to Luca, Florence, Pisa.
If you're looking for a quiet place to stay and still be able to drive and visit more touristic places around, the house with cat is a great option!

Lovely house in a lovely village.
we were met at the property and were shown around. There was plenty of information in the property about the village and surrounding area.we had a day in Lucca when we hired bikes as the centre is car free. we also went to a farm which did olive pressing and made wine. We sampled lots of olive oils and wines and could buy from their shop.
Thank you so much for taking time to share your experiences and highlight of your stay at Casa Del Pretorio. It was great to meet you and share with you some of our local culture . We do hope you enjoyed exploring our little corner of Tuscany and we are looking forward to welcoming you again as our guests in the future.
