About Vacasa of Acadia
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers. Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team. Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

A little too rustic for what we were looking for.
Property leaves a lot to be desired. Furniture, and beds are all very old. Very poor lighting. Location is cool in the basin, and the dock is cool for boating.
We had a few rainy days and lost internet multiple times. Almost nowhere to sit when not able to use the porch.
We are sorry to hear these guests were disappointed with their stay. We have advised the owner of the comments in this review, and the home is scheduled for a deep clean this fall. We appreciate this feedback and hope to have another chance to impress this guest soon!
There are better options
The only redeeming quality of this house was the location. Some of the neighbors are extremely unpleasant. Make sure you DO NOT use the concrete pier, even to walk out to your boat when launching. I made the mistake of making a few casts at night from that pier and was contacted a few minutes later by the property manager, stating that a neighbor took a picture of me and I need to leave or I will be fined.
The house itself was dirty upon arrival. The floors clearly had not been cleaned. We even found a cell phone under a bed, which probably would have been seen had someone actually cleaned the place. The fitment of some of the doors is off, and they can get stuck at times. There was also an ant problem in the dining area/back porch.
Sophia, the property manager was very nice and helpful, but unfortunately the house itself was not up to par with the numerous others I’ve rented in the area. If you can book well in advance, there are numerous better options.
We are very sorry to hear about the experience this guest had while staying in the rental. We have made the recommendations to the homeowner to fix the fitment of the doors. The ant problem has also been addressed, and there are no more in the home. Concerning the housekeeping issues, we would like to apologize as this is not how we would like guests to find our homes. We take pride in serving our guests and want to make sure they have the best experience each stay. We always have a team, or the property manager herself, correct any issues guests find in the homes, so, we please ask guests contact us with any problems. Thank you!
Perfect location, not so relaxing.
This cabin couldn’t be in a better location. Right on a crystal clear shallow lake (great for swimming), grocery shopping and basic dining within a five minute (maybe less) drive, and a short drive to some of Maine’s more well known destinations like Freeport and the wildlife park. However, the cabin itself is spartan in terms of relaxation amenities. The shower is not great for people over 6 feet tall, the furniture is basic at best (the main couch is a futon, and the beds are small queen beds) and the listing of a fireplace is misleading. Your not actually allowed to use it for some reason. I would stay here again only for the location, not at all for the cabin itself. If you are the type who likes to relax in a cabin you’d have a hard time here (or if your weather is bad and your forced to stay in). But if your the type who wants a great location to make your base and enjoy the surroundings and lake this place is great. My review is mixed I know, but I’ve stayed in fantastic cabins in Maine that had it all (location and comfort) for less cost so im biased.

Clean well kept cabin, right on the water. The back porch is the best!
Well maintained, and appears recently renovated. Some original details tastefully kept, like the screen doors, windows and woodwork on the porch.
Well appointed kitchen (although the toaster didn't work quite right, only one side of the bagel toasts up). Comfy bed!
Perfect Maine lakeside experience we were looking for, especially this time of year when it's quiet.
There is a boat launch area right next to the house, that was only used a couple times while we were here, mid week, mid September. May be busier in the peak season.
Short walk to the association beach. The beach in front of the cabin is off limits. There is a great dock that you can sit on and jump off of.
There are strict guidelines for cleaning up when you leave, and there is a high cleaning fee as well. The cleaning fee of $175 seems high for our 2 person, 2 night stay.
Nice, clean, tasteful cottage, just the right size for a small family. We loved everything about it, especially the screened-in porch and the view. It's also a perfect location for kayaking/kayak fishing or paddle boarding, easy access to Sebago and Frye Island but in a nice protected basin.
We hope to make this an annual visit - our new favorite cottage!
Clean, comfortable, and fully loaded!
The place was better than we expected, with all the creature comforts. The dock was perfect for fishing, or sitting with a cup of coffee in the morning just watching the day begin. The row-boat was a fun adventure and the sleeping arrangements were plentiful and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
