Jul 4, 2017The photos don’t do justice to this beautiful townhome in the Garden District of New Orleans. Built in the 1830’s and refurbished in 2015, it is grand, replete with accents, paintings, books, and nooks that will invite you to relax and get refreshed. The ceilings are high on most floors, allowing for natural light to flow throughout which adds to the magnificence of the home and details as simple as a door hinge in this home are a piece of art. The kitchen has modern appliances (super-quiet dishwasher and silent-shutting kitchen drawers were my favorites) and marble countertops. There is a small outdoor patio providing a great place to relax and enjoy the ambiance. The location is ideal in the Lower Garden District with convenient back alley access. It is minutes from several attractions including the Mardi Gras Museum and Jackson Square. We could not have asked for more and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Five stars for this excellent vacation rental.
We spent 4 nights in this lovely home for a family gathering of 10 adults over Easter. It's a beautiful well appointed home with comfortable beds and great lounging space. Enjoyed the proximity of the property to the trolley and the ease of an uber ride in minutes. Good location and very easy to access. Communications with the owner and caretaker were timely and accurate.
On the flip side, I almost gave the property 4 stars because it really needed a bit more in the cleaning department. We also found it needed things like a wine opener and a can opener. Not really what you want to discover when making Easter dinner. But don't let these little things stop you from enjoying this lovely home!
Its central location and commodious spaces make this renovated home the perfect place for a group to enjoy each others' company and from which to experience all of New Orleans. The owner and the local concierge manager were delightfully welcoming, helpful, available and accommodating. Everything was clean and well maintained. Our group of friends enjoyed sitting around at the house in the comfortable living room and at the great dining table catching up, enjoying morning coffee and evening wine, as well as venturing out to all parts of the city on foot and by easy Uber/Lyft. I have lived in New Orleans and have also stayed in a number of good rental homes when visiting, and I highly recommend this property.
This house was absolutely stunning. It was perfect for our birthday celebration during Mardi Gras. Easily within walking distance to all of the parades we attended on St. Charles. We were able to sit on the front steps and watch people walking down to the people's parade on Fat Tuesday. The courtyard was a quiet retreat to get away from it all. Courtney was a huge help, supplying the house with anything that we requested. She was great to work with. Hope to return someday soon.
Our family group of eight adults enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and decorated. The rooms are spacious with 14' ceilings downstairs. The concierge was eager to assist. The bedrooms are large and nicely furnished. Far better experience than separate rooms at the lovely Windsor Court (our last group visit to New Orleans). We would definitely stay at this residence again.
Absolutely beautiful house in a cozy neighborhood. Loved shopping and eating on magazine street so it made it even better that we were staying there too! Our host was very sweet, helpful and accommodating. The beds were extremely comfortable and I loved that every room had it’s own thermostat. Also for anyone in town for the convention, it was a quick 12 minute walk to the convention center. We are already talking about staying here again!
Thank you so much!
There were nine of us who stayed at the Magazine Street house. The sleeping arrangements works perfectly, the bathrooms, kitchen, decor, overall accommodations and service were literally as good as it gets. Highly, highly recommended!
