My husband Jim's first visit to Moloka'i was summer 1961 to pick pineapples with his best friend and his 9 brothers and sisters in their Hawaiian home. He has been visiting ever since. My Mom was 4th generation born in Honolulu and lived on Waikiki beach before all the big hotels were built. Her family was credited with bringing the ukulele to Hawaii. I was raised in a suburb of Chicago with memories of my mom hula dancing and reminiscing about the beach and tropical environment. Mom passed away before we purchased our Hawiian home but I know this island is how she remembered the "old Hawaii" of her childhood. Every time we visited our ohana (extended Hawaiian family) in Moloka'i over the past 25 years we didn't want to leave. We are hoping you can enjoy the friendly, family, true Hawaii atmosphere that lives in our heart here on Molokai

What makes this House unique
Puko'o beach is unspoiled and rich with sea life. It's a small locals sandy beach with safe swimming (most beaches with homes on them on Molokai are either open to the ocean with big waves or have a muddy sandy beach). With only 7 or so homes on it's border it is very quiet. Located 16 miles east of town on the tropical end next to an excellent small local market and restaurant. The price of the home includes 1 to 4 people and a clean, local, island car. Access to printer, scanner, copier available if needed. Water toys available upon request and approval.

Moloka’i house April 2018
The place was well equipped - it had everything you’d need. And the location was nestled in between cliffs and the ocean so you had lush green views on one side and access to the ocean on the other.
The proprietors were also fabulous. I was unable to get to Moloka’i the first night of the reservation because of intense storms and they kindly let me use that credit for an extra night (which helped me make up for a booking error on my part). And as it has been said in other reviews Harley is a wonderful person and will welcome you with the biggest Aloha spirit you could ask for.
The house is about 16 miles out of town on the east end which feels more local. It is a drive to other parts but not an issue if you want more solitude and experiencing an end of the island that is not as frequented.

This is a great location & beautiful house. Very well taken care of house, truly just steps to the ocean. It's in a quiet little neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Beach chairs, towels, snorkeling stuff were all included. OH and did I mention the vehicle. This was VERY helpful! Harley the care taker was there to pick us up at the airport, he was full of information about the island on our drive to the house. Definitely recommend this rental!
Beautiful well-equipped home close to beach
Very clean, beautiful, comfortable and peaceful property, located in the prettiest part of the island. Property is located entirely on the second floor, the first floor being an accessible garage containing W/D, bikes and lots of beach supplies. Well-equipped throughout, but particularly the kitchen, especially important on this island, which has limited options for eating out. Protected beach (ie no surf) is a short walk away, through the yard of the owner's house (this is a secondary residence). In "overview" photo, this property has brown roof with white vehicle parked next to it and owner has 3 green-roofed structures closer to beach. Bed was a bit soft for my taste. Loved listening to the cacophony of birdsong in the mornings! Harley was very friendly, responsive and helpful. Vehicle and transportation from and to airport included, which was really handy. This was our first visit to Moloka'i and very happy to have chosen this part of the island. Wish we could have stayed longer - will definitely be back!

Lovely quiet accommodation near the beach, well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Having the use of the Caravan is a plus. Harley is very friendly and helpful.

Perfect Hawaii cottage
This is a beautiful cottage with really nice finishes and furnishings. Well stocked with everything needed. Location is great...walk to store. Harley is exceptionally helpful should need anything. We highly recommend!
Fabulous house, nice accoutrements, quiet location, great caretaker.
Very nice, comfortable house in a quiet location. There is a good little market and breakfast/lunch place walking distance from the house. The house has everything you need - the homeowners have thought of everything from plush towels, bathrobes, comfortable bedding to a well appointed kitchen with good pots and pans and a nice espresso and coffee maker. Molokai is pretty sleepy - so it was nice to have a good kitchen and lanai for cooking and eating. It was stormy while we were there, so we only snorkeled one day while we were there. The caretaker was wonderful - picked us up at the airport and offered to be on call during our stay. I highly recommend this house if you plan to visit Molokai.
