The Old Cider Press is the middle cottage of a Grade II listed barn conversion dating back over 300 years. Cosy and welcoming, nestling in the breathtakingly beautiful village of Stanton (AONB). Be transported back hundreds of years and shed the stresses of daily life in this enchanting base for a relaxing break.
The cottage has many interesting features, with beams and oak floors throughout there is much to make you feel welcome. On the ground floor we have two double bedrooms in which we have quality furnishings and Dorma bedding, both have King size beds. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and has a newly fitted thermostatic shower which is over the bath - we have constant hot water and good pressure. We provide Egyptian cotton towels for the use of our guests.
On the first floor we have a cosy living room, with free BT Vision (On Demand, catch up BBC iplayer and ITV net player), we have a DVD player with a wide selection of DVDs, books and games. We also have free WIFI (internet access). The dining area has seating for four people and we have quality crockery and Villeroy & Boch cutlery. The kitchen is equipped to a high standard.
There is a spiral staircase up to a mezanine floor (galleried area) which has a comfy armchair if anyone should feel the need for some solitude:)
We have a patio area in the cottage garden which is a peaceful and tranquil retreat, here you can listen to the church bells ring, horses trotting by, sheep in the nearby fields, add to this the beautiful birdsong, and it is easy to understand how the charm of this beautiful village envelopes you, eases the mind and lays claim to your heart

This was our 5th visit to The Old Cider Press so that in itself must tell you how much we love the place.
My children have grown up staying here. My son is now tall enough to have to duck under the beam a couple of paces from the stairs. He swears blind it has been put there in the past 12 months and hasn't been there since the property was built around 300 years ago.
Since our last visit, my wife was so impressed with the toaster at the Old Cider Press we've bought the same one as we really need a bagel setting I'm told.
There's a sign in the kitchen saying 'Dinner is ready when the smoke alarm goes off'. This year I managed to make a full cooked breakfast each morning without setting it off. Granted not dinner, but still an improvement.
This place is stunning.
Wifi fabulous. BT TV package including sport channels very handy. The owners have spent money on buying the best electrical goods which is very rare in holiday cottages.
OK the mobile reception isn't great - but that's a real bonus if you want a break from work and with the Wifi being so good there's also a way people can get hold of you.
If it's available. Book it.
If it's not, change your dates!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful Town
Really lovely clean cottage in a beautiful quiet village. The perfect place to get away from it all. The owners were very thoughtful providing, Milk, eggs, butter, bread, wine and mince pies on arrival. The cottage is well furnished and spotless. The village of Stanton is beautiful and quiet with a lovely pub the Mount Inn in walking distance. Had a lovely stay over the new year period.

A Christmas Break in a Lovely Cottage Situated in a Quaint Cotwold Village Setting
This thatched cottage, the middle of three in a beautifully renovated 17th century barn, fully met our expectations and more during our 4-day stay!
It is extremely well equipped with nothing amiss.
The first floor living area was ample and comfortable for the three of us and the location was peaceful making for easy relaxation.
Stanton is a typical quaint Cotswold village with most properties being built in the local limestone with limestone slate or thatched roofs dating back to the 16th century.
A visit to the Mount Inn on the edge of the village to sample the Donnington Brewery ales and to have a meal. Being part way up a steep climb helped to generate a thirst and appetite!
Nearby Broadway has shops, pubs and restaurants to cater for most needs.
We thoroughly recommend The Old Cider Press and its location for exploring the Cotwolds and to relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Wonderful English village in the Cotswolds. The perfect play to stay.
Thank you for this excellent review.
I know you have already recommended us to your family and friends. No greater recommendation I think. Hope to have you stay again soon.
Wonderful cottage in a beautiful village, well worth visiting.
A wonderful little cottage in an amazing, peaceful, tranquil area. The cottage was equipped with everything needed for a very comfortable stay, which included a gift of some essentials, i.e. bread, butter, milk, wine and a really beautiful cake. The owner has thought of everything for her visitors to relax and enjoy the experience of staying in this beautiful 17th century cottage. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review.

I sincerely hope you will stay with us again one day.
Stanton is probably one of the prettiest and most idyllic villages in the whole of the Cotswolds (AONB). Little changed in 300 years it nestles beneath the slopes of Shenbarrow Hill. It has a very pleasing long main street with several delightful corners where the ancient houses are built in typical Cotswolds style with steeply pitched gables, mullioned windows and glowing honey coloured limestone walls. Copy and paste the link to see what 'The Telegraph' has to say about Stanton http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/uk/southernengland/11400492/Cotswolds-pub-walks.html The village boasts two magnificent manor houses as well as a restored medieval cross and a church dating back to the Norman period. There are numerous lovely walks including the famous Cotswold Way – which traverses for 100 miles between Chipping Campden and Bath goes through Stanton. We also have a cricket ground where the local villages compete regularly throughout the summer. The Mount Inn pub/restaurant stands on a hill at the top of the village with spectacular views across the Vale of Evesham towards the Malvern Hills & even the Black Welsh mountains beyond. On a summer's evening it is the most perfect spot to watch the sunset & enjoy a pint of Donnington Brewery's finest ale. The Guild House in Stanton runs many courses and 'quiet days' - well worth a visit. Steam Train Ever wanted to drive a steam engine? Hire the train, have dinner – take a read – lots of trips to go on – the train station is a 10 minute drive from Stanton.
