About Aloha Ibarcena

Get away into the mountains to enjoy with the family; it will bring you memories you'll never forget!

Aloha Ibarcena purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Aloha Ibarcena chose Mountain Springs

Peaceful wooded setting and convenient to many places.

What makes this cabin unique

We love to travel and some of our favorite places is the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smoky Mountains. One of our dreams was to buy a house close to the Parkway and all the other beautiful places around the area like Cherokee Indian Reservation, Maggie Valley, Waynesville (nice restaurants). Our cabin offers access year-round. So, if we like to take a vacation in the winter and enjoy the snow, we go to Cataloochee Ski area. Our boys love it. The same can be said about Summer when we go water tubing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying at the cabin. The view from the deck is great. The

cabin is very clean & there was plenty of room for the 10 of us. We had no

problems at all. I would recommend the home.

Happy Thanksgiving in Waynesville

  • 3 of 5

I have seen reviews on this property go from one extreme to the other so here are the facts! House was very clean. The downstairs smelled very musty. We could not use the bedroom for 2 days (we had to settle on couches upstairs.) My husband opened all the windows downstairs and ran a fan, I purchased a febreeze plug in and by day 3 it was perfectly fine! I informed the owner that she may want to tell housekeeping to do that prior to guests arriving and it will be perfect! There was only one dish towel when we got there so I had to go purchase a bunch for the week. About the road up to the house; it was extremely steep and only 1 car at a time! If a car is coming down while you are going up, one of you has to back up until you reach a driveway to turn into (not easy). It is quite scary the first couple of times and after that, no big deal! Unfortunately the hot water tank went the last day we were there. We contacted the owner right away and she did do her best to get it taken care of, but no one could make it out until after we left. The owner was very easy to get a hold of! The televisions are ridiculously tiny! My 20 yr old son had a heart attack when he got there and saw what he was going to have to watch Thanksgiving football on, but he survived! Lol if you are looking for top notch ammenities, this is not the house for your family. If you are looking for a nice sized house up in the mountains but close to everything, this is perfect! Btw the game room is old and pretty much unplayable, but not a huge problem for us! The pictures were exactly what you get! Everything was very accurate. I hope this honest review helps. We enjoyed our family holiday very much at Aloha!

It was beautiful and the trees and mountains were amazing.

  • 5 of 5

When we got there there was a cute wooden bear that welcomed us. It was so welcoming. Like a country home away from home. It was a little muggy during the day because of not air conditioning, but cooled off at night to around 65 degrees. The weather was gorgeous. We went fishing and tubing in the river near by. We were so at piece by the end of the trip that we wanted to move there.

Not really pic showed pond making you think it was in front of cabin which it wasn't. Nothing to do

  • 3 of 5

Basement smelled like e mildew and very damp. House need air condition . Wont let kids sleep down there. Over priced . For the money renters should not have to take there trash with them when they leave . Won't stay there again . No view and running creek is miles down the road with no access to it . Road in and out is to narrow to get to the house

Owner's Response: Clay, I'm sorry you where disappointed about the house, we always follow up with a phone call after a booking to ask our guest if they have any questions and let them know about trash removal since we don't have public service there, it doesn't count for last day trash, we also mention about A/C and let them know to please run the ceilings fans and open the windows a little bit specially during summer or when house been without guest for a while. We love to have a happy guest and improve our services with your comments.

Beautiful place and easy access to great places.

  • 5 of 5

Had no clue what to expect as this was our first time using VRBO. Went for a wedding in Waynesville and four families in all stayed. Was bigger than expected and we had room to spare! Ping Pong, Pool table and more games were an unexpected surprise. It's in a beautiful secluded area and you are minutes from Smokey Mountain shops and eclectic eateries. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great vacation and experience

  • 5 of 5

One of the best places I stayed using VRBO! The cabin is spacious and nicely situated and. The drive to house is thru horse farms and creek and valleys and very pretty. The house was well furnished and gave a feel of 'country' vacation and relief from daily urban humdrum. We enjoyed to the game room on a rainy day. The house was well kept and the porch was awesome and large to look sit back and relax. We travelled to asheville and two waterfalls nearby and they were within 30-40 minutes drive. Owner is supernice; always available and helpful.

The instructions were clear on everything, though i would advise going before sun goes down ; since it is in rural mountain area and can be little difficult to spot at night. We even received information on nearby attractions and convenience store. One more thing, we left our camera at the property by mistake and owner is kind enough to arrange the return. That is going above and beyond for a landlord!

Thanks a bunch for a great stay and cabin, very positive experience. would consider staying again at this place.

very spacious and furnished

  • 5 of 5

the vacation home is a great deal for what it offers! large rooms and plenty of space all around. one of the nicest property we stayed in north carolina mountains.

location is also beautiful with lake and mountains surrounding. The owner is very accommodating. The house had a nice 'country' touch all over and we liked it. The game room was a bonus and enjoyable despite some of the items being dated. Just can not understand from negative reviews that people expect every property to be picture perfect. These folks should stay in a hotel.

If you go, do arrive before sunset; since being rural setting ; it can be bit difficult to locate. Overall we really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it. Thankyou Aloha.
