Aloha to the exotic North Shore and your air-conditioned (split air not window units) spacious, smoke free accommodations. Where you can adventure North Shore without a car. Because you can walk or bike everywhere or jump on the bus, bus stop is moments away.

Our guest area provides private entrance to the 1st floor of our home(we live on second floor) and off street parking for one car.

Step out your front door and walk to experience: Three Tables Beach (30 second walk), Waimea Bay (less than 5 minutes), Sharks Cove, enjoy a Hawaiian eating experience from great food trucks only 2 minutes walking to Shark's Cove Grill, North Shore Tacos, Thai Elephant Truck, Pupukea Grill, Foodland grocery store, Coffee Bean Tea Leaf Shop, Sandy's Sandwiches. Also you may walk down the street two minutes to rent a bike, snorkel gear, paddleboards or surfboards. The bike path is a five-minute walk from our home. This will lead you on a bike ride or walk to Pipe Line, Sunset Beach and Ted’s Bakery.

We respect our neighbors and our guest so the only guest that are welcomed on our property or in our home are the individuals on the signed contract. This is for your safety and ours.

Your comfort is our intent so we offer to(1 or 2) guest a comfortable size bedroom (The Waimea Room) with a king bed. If there is a third party we have a twin bed that is located in the living area. The living area is very spacious with a large flat screen TV and the kitchen area is more than sufficient in size. Our guest have their own private outside shower which is supplied with hot and cold water and soaps and shampoos. You have use of a fully supplied laundry area. We are also kid friendly with toys, books, crib and highchair.

So escape to your home away from home and experience all that the North Shore can offer only steps away from Island Retreat.

We found this adorable house online and as soon as we arrived we knew the pictures did not do this place justice! Everything is so welcoming and Choca made every moment here even more enjoyable Our family went right across the street to three tables beach and snorkeled just about everyday.There are so many beautiful things to see! One of our favorite sights was Waimea Falls and for breakfast it was straight to Ted's Bakery for the BEST donuts! Debbie and Derek you guys are the nicest people and thank you for letting us play with your wonderful dog for hours! Thanks so much for this wonderful experience we will never forget! You will get business from us again and soon.

Great Location for the North Coastline

This place was wonderful--very quiet and comfortable, close to a food store so we could eat in if desired and very close to the beach. We found that we could walk to many places including Waimea Bay which was stunning. If we needed anything both Derek and Debby we fast to respond to our needs. The outdoor equipment and gear (beach chairs, towels, cooler, etc.) can in very nice. We look at a lot of places online that boasted air conditioning only in one room that said it cooler the entire space. This place had air conditioning in the main living space as well as the bedroom which was very nice. I'm knocking one star off as we saw a few insects in the evening hours on the countertops but understand that they are in a pets control regiments to take care of that problem.

Awesome Property, Awesome Location, Awesome Owners

I sent my son, daughter in law and her brother to Haleiwa for the Billabong Pipeline Surfing contest. Having been to Haleiwa before we knew what a fantastic area it is, but had no idea how wonderful the apartment was. It was exactly as described in VRBO. Just gorgeous and so relaxing and quiet. Enjoyed the owner's dog as well. If you left the door open he would visit, if not he never came. Debby was a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful with any questions we had.

The beds were very comfortable, the rest of the apartment was nicely furnished. The outdoor shower was welcome, we have one at our home in Florida and use it frequently. Kitchen was clean and modern. Outdoor deck was so relaxing. Very Zen!

Will be coming back here to stay!

Perfect home & location

This was our first time staying at Debby & Derek's home, the week before X-mas. They were great and welcoming.

After spending a week there, I highly doubt we could find a better place. It's located right in the middle of so many great things to do.

Some of the highlights are:

Very clean and roomy

Outdoor shower (with hot water)

Huge bathroom and tub

A very large hot water heater that never ran out (and we used it a lot)

Large washer & dryer to use

All kitchen appliances, cookware and utensils you need

Internet was pretty good

Comfy beds

Very quiet

Nice private fenced yard


Walk to grocery store (they helped us get discounts and bags that you'll need)

Walk to food truck village (this was very cool)

Walk to beaches (2 minutes away. Watch sunset every night)

Short drive to many other attractions and towns for shops and tours / rentals

Neighbors are quiet and nice (not a loud party neighborhood)

If you are looking for the get-away feel, but close to fun things, then this is the place to go. We will stay here again the next time we are on the island.
