Great, unique home & stay -- perfect for a ski getaway!
Our group of 12 (and 2 dogs) loved our stay at Susan's home. It's a beautifully designed, uniquely decorated, cozy and welcoming home. It more than readily fit our whole party for a ski getaway weekend.
The place is exactly 15 minutes from Sugarbush and was very easy to get to & from the mountain. The decor of the whole place was very fun and interesting to take in, the rooms were clean, cozy, and fully-furnished, and there were some fun nooks & crannies like the crow's nest at the very top of the house that provides beautiful views of the sunset overlooking the hills & mountains in the backyard. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking & big group dinners. The potbelly stove was very efficient at heating up the home and unsurprisingly, the hot tub was a hit with the whole group.
Would definitely recommend a stay here. We'd be happy to come back again for a summer visit and will be keeping this at the top of the list for future stays near Sugarbush!
Amazing unique house
The house was so charming and unique and had plenty of space for 4 couples and our kids. The pictures don’t do it justice. Susan was so accommodating and helpful. We can’t say enough about our stay.
Beautiful, Quirky & Remote
We loved this house so much we ended up staying an extra night! Very close to sugarbush. Beautiful property. Cozy, comfy and endlessly entertaining home. No doors wasn’t a problem, as there is still a lot of privacy. Comfortably slept 12 people. Susan was very helpful for the few questions we had. The only thing I would mention is if it’s snowy you should have 4WD.
Impressive house with great views
Very much enjoyed visiting the house and enjoying the other amenities - hot tub, fire pit, pond, etc. Very secluded location and comfortable house. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. Enjoying stairs is a requirement to visit though!
A lovely sanctuary home for family and fur-family
What a beautiful spot! Tucked away, hidden from the world, but close enough to the town center to get what you need for an enjoyable time. When my husband and I arrived, we were greeted with a note and music playing throughout the house. It was a warm welcome and a great way to start our vacation. Everyone loved the home- there was always something to look at and the style was so much fun to be in, especially since the weather wasn't the best. We all agreed it had a Harry Potter feel to it! I will say the only downside is the open rooms- and this is mainly because my family wakes up at 6am while I wake up at 7am. The open room concept provides plenty of privacy but make sure you don't have noisy family members! Even with the so so weather we had a blast regardless- swam in the pond and relaxed in the hot tub, frisbee out in the big open field. There is plenty of space! We spent most of the weekend cooking and the kitchen had everything we needed. We ventured out to the local farmers market in Waitsfield and the drive to get there was incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking to spend time with family and BIG plus for us was being able to bring your dogs. We had 5, which is always so difficult to do when renting a home. Thank you Susan for being so accommodating and providing a sanctuary for our family!
Unique & cozy
Stayed with group of friends during the weekend before the 4th of July. The house and property had everything we needed or could want. Despite rain the first 3 nights we were there, we enjoyed ourselves. The hot tub was nice to have near the house & the pond was very easy to use for us and our dogs. There was even a beaver using it one day! The yard was pretty wet after 3 days of rain, but still nice.
We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the house and didn't mind that there were no doors on the rooms. The 3.5 baths were more than enough for us. The best part was being able to bring all our dogs. We had a total of 6 there throughout the weekend and they enjoyed the property as much as we did!
Cell service was spotty between all of us but there was WiFi. We didn't use the TV until the last night to watch a movie. For that I would recommend bringing your own - there are not many movies at the house. We also brought games with us which we used a lot during the rainy times.
If you're looking for someplace unique, where you can be self-sufficient & not bothered by neighbors, this is the place!
Sledding, ice skating, x-country skiing, snowshoeing - right on the premises.
