Great property. Excellent place to return to after a long day of touring. Relaxing and all amenities needed were available. Home is on a farm (if a farm is not for you...then location may not be for you). If you love animals, beautiful views, and excellent hosts like me, then you will love it. We loved watching the cows while unwinding with an evening beverage. Elaine (and Robert) were great and communicated well before arrival, during our stay, and on departure.
Wonderful country cottage
Wonderful country cottage close to Derry. This cottage exceeded all our expectations and was everything we wished for. Wonderful hosts
We loved our stay in Drumcorn Farm Cottage. Elaine and Robert are wonderful!! We were greeted with a warm welcome and each day they checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our stay and to see if we needed anything. They gave us wonderful suggestions of things to see and do in the area. They provided maps and brochures, wrote out driving instructions and also gave suggestions of what to see/eat in each town. The cottage is in the perfect location, just a couple miles from Derry. We were able to do day trips to Giants Causeway and the causeway coast, to Belfast, to Glenveagh National Park and Donegal. It's an ideal location to see the north. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. We were able to cook our own meals with several grocery stores within about 15 minutes. It was wonderful being able to come home and relax after a day of sightseeing and not be stuck in a hotel room. The farm and surrounding hills are beautiful and peaceful. I would return in a heartbeat!! Thank you Elaine and Bob for making our trip so special!! Will see you again on our next Ireland trip:)
Lovely spot, great accommodations
The place is laid out beautifully and is quite large. The homemade cut out cookies were superb and while we didn’t wander, it was fun to be greeted by dairy cows and calves as we entered the property. We were disheartened by the scolding we received upon our 10 pm arrival and suggest to the owner that in her ALL her communication prior to arrival she stress the importance for her to know when to expect her travelers. A key box would be a proper remedy to her frustration at being kept up later than she likes. I have stayed at MANY VRBO’s and have never had an issue, since there are ways for owners to provide access that don’t necessitate a personal greeting. Hopefully others following in our footsteps to Drumcorn will not encounter this issue. Great location to town, while feeling that you are in the middle of nowhere.
Thank you for your review , yes this is a well maintained cottage in a great locution . A lot of hard work and time goes into preparing the cottage for new guests
As for your late arrival , I emailed you several times before you arrived requesting you to confirm arrival time .There were no replies . when in Ireland , owners of holiday rentals make a point in welcoming all their guests personally. The cottage is next door to the farmhouse and when on occasions a guest is late alternative arrangements are made
Also when a reservation is made for a number of guests only to find out the numbers had increased on check- in 10.40pm Sunday night .Breaking the terms and conditions of the booking agreement
When booking a holiday rental more care and cooperation is needed
Elaine and Robert are fabulous hosts and the nicest people! They had an apple pie and bottle of wine waiting for us when we got there. They came by every morning for a chat and to see if everything was ok! The house is very comfortable and everything works. The kitchen is especially nice as there is no shortage of great cooking tools, plates, glasses, etc. The location is very rural and quiet yet close to Derry. It’s about an hour from the Giant’s Causeway and other great locations.
We highly recommend this house!
Couldn't Ask For Anything More!
We were in Northern Ireland for a wedding and were lucky enough to stay with Elaine and Robert Bredin on their dairy farm just outside Londonderry. Their three bedroom, two bath home is warm, welcoming and outfitted perfectly. So perfectly, that we were able to host a Canadian Thanksgiving dinner for 16 the Monday following the wedding. Elaine and Robert are consummate hosts and their farm is truly beautiful.
Thank you so much for the lovely review . It's very much appreciated. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay
