About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 2 (2 adults)

Enjoy picturesque harbor views from every window at this studio-style Southwest Harbor retreat, a beautifully situated waterfront suite with an ideal location for lighthouse lovers, kayakers, and visitors to Acadia National Park.

Scenically positioned in the charming village of Manset, this studio condo enjoys sweeping views of the boats in Southwest Harbor and the entrance to Somes Sound. You'll be just one mile south of downtown Southwest Harbor, 15 miles south of Acadia's Hulls Cove Visitor Center, and 16 miles southwest of lively Bar Harbor.

Cozy, comfortable, and equipped with every necessity for a wonderful island vacation, the living space is ideal for couples and single travelers. Come home from a day of hiking and kayaking to relax in the central air conditioning, and use the WiFi to post photos of the day's adventures.

Fix yourself an afternoon snack or a glass of wine in the kitchenette, which offers a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, wine glasses, and a few other culinary tools. Just be sure to preserve your appetite for dinner at Beal's Lobster Pier, which serves local lobsters fresh from the sea only two miles north on Clark Point.

Spend your days perusing the quaint shops and restaurants in Southwest Harbor, watching the boats sail in and out of the cove, and admiring the view of Bear Island Lighthouse across the water. Just be sure to catch at least one sunset at the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse on the ocean coast five miles south.

Each evening, this Southwest Harbor studio condo will accommodate as many as two guests. Snuggle up in the king-size bed and watch a movie on the flatscreen cable TV as you drift into a restful sleep. The attached full bathroom features a shower for your ease and convenience.

Thanks to its enviable position across the street from the harbor, this studio condo is the perfect escape for kayakers, anglers, and sailing enthusiasts. Charter a boat to reach Sutton, Little Cranberry, and Great Cranberry Islands just offshore, or spend a rainy day inside the Wendell Gilley Museum, a community institution dedicated to the art of decorative bird carving.

You'll be within an easy drive of Acadia's magnificent landscapes, from the beach at Echo Lake three miles north to the trails that climb Beech Mountain, Bernard Mountain, and Mansell Mountain nearby. Head over the west side of Mount Desert Island to catch the spectacular sunrise atop Cadillac Mountain, the incomparable view of Frenchman Bay from the top of the Precipice Trail, or the iconic vistas of the rocky shores from Sand Beach and the Ocean Path.

Come and discover one of Maine's most celebrated destinations - book your stay in beautiful Southwest Harbor today!

About Vacasa, ME - Mount Desert Island Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Nice location and view

  • 4 of 5

Overall, very nice. Room was very clean and decorated nicely. A few things that could be improved are:

Wifi very weak. Almost never worked. TV way too small. Nice to have a couple of upholstered chairs in the room however, these should be replaced.

Wi-Fi and TV were useless

  • 1 of 5

The room left much to be desired. The biggest problem was the internet Wi-Fi signal was so weak that the internet was often unusable. Sometimes it would take 10-15 minutes to access my email account and other times it did not work at all. The next problem was that the TV set was smaller than an average computer monitor, and the quality was poor. In order to watch it you would have to sit on the floor in front of the dresser. There were several light bulbs missing, including some in the lamps. We contacted Vacasa about these issues but received no response. The room is located above a restaurant which appears to be out of business. We loved the area and if you are thinking about visiting we would highly recommend it, just find a better place to stay.

Great Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

The room was about a half hour to Bar Harbor and Acadia and was very clean. There are some decent restaurants very close by if you don't feel like going very far.
