About the property

Have you always wanted to stay in a tiny house? Refresh, relax, & renew in ours.

Welcome to our cozy Aloha Tiny House, the perfect central Pacific Northwest location in the quiet neighborhood of Dash Point, NE Tacoma with views of the Puget Sound and Maury Island. Just up the street from several beach parks, the Aloha Tiny House includes everything you need for a comfortable stay all wrapped up in a cozy tiny house with your own parking spot and private entrance and deck.

• Tiny house living in 135 square feet plus queen bed loft and additional storage loft. The Aloha Tiny house, private parking, entrance and deck are separate from our house below. We actually lived in the tiny house while we were building our main house and it is cozy and sturdy in all weather.

• Now with air conditioner in the loft with remote control.

• Of note, you must be able to climb the secured ladder to the queen bed loft.

• The deck includes a table with umbrella and chairs and a gas BBQ. Don't forget to look up; a bald eagle family lives in the neighborhood and we also enjoy seasonal osprey, blue herons, stellar jays, and other fun bird watching.

• The storage loft provides beach chairs, cooler, beach towels and beach blanket for your convenience and enjoyment of our local beaches. The storage loft also stores the ironing board and extra bedding if someone wants to sleep on the loveseat futon.

• Kitchen includes mini fridge, K-pod coffee brewer, breakfast station with coffee pot, toaster oven, small cooking surface, microwave, electric kettle, blender, small crock pot, and dishes and utensils and other essentials like coffee, tea, sugar, paper towels etc. Pots and pans provided for the BBQ and BBQ utensils are stored with the BBQ.

• Bathroom includes all towels, soaps and shampoos as well as hair dryer, iron and other amenities.

• The TV/DVD combo has HDMI and USB ports with a Roku stick as well as a Bluetooth-enabled stereo speaker and, although we don't have cable, the antennae picks up more channels than basic cable. WiFi is also provided. A lap desk is provided for comfortable laptop use or other projects from the comfort of the loveseat futon.

• We have two cats but they do not go in the Aloha Tiny House. There are also other neighborhood animals, both domestic and wild that pass through our lot from time to time.

• CAMPING GEAR: We have many guests stay with us before or after Pacific NW camping adventures. We have a complete camping gear kit for rent for anyone traveling from out of town. Message us for details.

Dash Point is a quiet neighborhood 30 minutes from Seattle and 20 minutes from Tacoma City Center and we are a few blocks up from Dash Point dock and park. Our street becomes especially quiet once everyone is home from work and the only people we see are neighbors walking their dogs.

It is an easy walk down to the Dash Point dock and beach park but it is uphill on the way back (fair warning).

About Tony and Attina Bergrud

We were both born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and love anything that involves nature and the water, whether snorkeling, surfing, kiteboarding, fishing, boating, kayaking, etc. We play nice during our work weeks with our long-time employers Boeing and King County Library System but in our free time we are either working on our house projects or sneaking away to a beach to recharge.

Why Tony and Attina Bergrud chose Tacoma

We love the peace, beauty and nature of this neighborhood with easy access to our work life and other Pacific Northwest activities from urban to rural.

When we bought the lot many years ago it included a 600 sq ft 1920's fishing shack with no foundation, no insulation and a pronounced slope to the floor. We lived in the fishing shack as is for over 10 years while we planned and first built the Aloha Tiny House mostly out of found, recycled, and liquidation warehouse items and then began our main house project. We are still in progress but in the final phase of our project and happy to share our tiny house with you.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This Aloha Tiny Home was everything and more! From the beautiful bay view, to the BBQ grill this place was quite the treat. Attina and Tony had everything from cooking utensils to extra towels. A perfect, cozy and relaxing stay if you want the "home away from home" feel.

Very comfy

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Attina and Tony for thinking of all the possible needs we might have! Even the snacks were great, although we didn't need any, it was a nice touch.

This is a very efficient use of space, and the bed was super comfortable.

Thanks again!

Tiny Adventure

  • 5 of 5

The Tiny house was as advertised; Tiny.

Which was not a problem! It was a mini getaway, and it was exactly what we had hoped for, the amenities were fine and the owners were polite enough to leave the porch light on for us prior to our late arrival. I would certainly recommend them, this place and the quiet location.

PS ) The only thing that would have made the tiny house a bit more romantic (as I feel like it is not aimed at large groups of people, or even people traveling alone but rather couples...) is if instead of two chairs, there was a loveseat in the 'living space area' instead. That would be far more comfortable and romantic for a couple.

Otherwise, great quiet location!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your suggestion. A cozy loveseat has always been on our wish list but to find just the right one to fit the space was always difficult, but we finally did and it does triple duty as a loveseat, twin futon or chaise lounge. Please stay with us again and give it a try.

Just 10 miles easy access to Tacoma's downtown, this tiny home was more than comfortable for my husband and me. If you can climb a ladder, you can sleep in the loft. Everything and more supplied.
