Great Lake house for families!
We’ve spent a lovely week here for four years in a row now and just love coming back! The hot tub is fantastic with an amazing view of the lake. The house is kid and dog friendly. The lake is perfect for young swimmers - deep enough to learn to jump off the end of the dock, shallow enough that everybody can stand safely in a large swimming area in front of the house. Two kayaks, new this year, are awesome for a paddle out to watch the loons and kingfishers. We will be back!
15 wonderful years
We have been enjoying Paul's wonderful lake cottage for many years ! It is peaceful , and inviting , with a lovely porch --you can watch the loons and the geese , read , or take a naps . The inside has been constantly up-graded--new kitchen and bath , bunk room , hot tub , and refurbished bedrooms . A great place to create lasting memories .
The lake is lovely--my husband sails a small boat every day .
Continued excellent property
This house continues to be a great vacation rental. We stayed here last year and were happy to be able to return. The house is really well maintained, has everything you'd need, and is an easy drive to many of Vermont's best tourist spots. We'll definitely look to stay here again.
Perfectly welcoming lake home in a perfectly welcoming locale
This beautiful home just continued to surprise me. The photos and description on HomeAway do not do justice to this home.
The open floor plan in the kitchen/dining area is perfect for gathering or enjoying an early morning cup of coffee while watching the fog lift from the lake. The sliding glass door to the large wrap-around porch simply adds to the depth of this welcoming area.
The living room is ample and inviting. I imagine in winter it gets more use but it was useful for the one of us who needed to accomplish a bit of work whilst on vacation. The tv was also most welcome on the one and only day when we very much wanted to watch the final game of the World Cup. No problems at all with the reception!
We made regular use of the fantastic hot tub! Each and every night -- under the summer sky -- with the lake right there.
And I mean the lake is right there! Just steps away from the back porch. We had a few guests during the week's visit and each and every one commented on just how close we were to the lake.
The updates Paul has made to this home are superb. Everything just seemed to be of such fine quality -- from the flooring to the countertops to the appliances to the bedding and bath. We were so very comfortable, right from the start.
And who knew that one bath would be perfectly sufficient?! It was my only...small...concern when renting the home. But at no time did that prove to be even remotely annoying.
We had a blast! I loved walking to the Elmore Store. The Fire Tower Pizza was great. Warren's sandwich suggestion became my husband's go-to breakfast for much of the week (egg salad with bacon & cheddar, if you want to know). We did hike up Elmore and went to the Fire Tower. For adventures away from Elmore, I heartily recommend the Zip Line in Stowe on Mt. Mansfield. I mean, the gondola is all well and good but the zip line is memorable! My 82 year-old aunt went with us -- and if she can do it, there's no excuse left for the rest of us! So cool.
I would return to this house in a heartbeat. Truly. In a heartbeat. It's lovely and Paul is a most responsive host.
Lovely home in a beautiful setting
We really enjoyed this house on Lake Elmore. We were blessed with wonderful weather, but the house was so comfortable it wouldn't have mattered if it rained. The loons, bullfrogs, and the view of the fire tower were front porch delights.
Once again, we had a wonderful week on Lake El.more. Lake house has everything you need for a wonderful week. This was our 4th year in this home and hope to continue the tradition.
Lots of outdoor activities in the area. Three ski resorts with 4 season fun, (Stowe, Smugglers Notch, Jay Peak) Lots of lakes, Mountains, water park, antique stores.
