Custom built 2500sf 3 Bedroom, 2 bath mountain house at 10,740' just outside of Fairplay and Alma on 10 acres. Lots of space to stretch out and relax. Upstairs feels rustic with a spacious living room with leather couches and fireplace, cozy dining room table, stools for seating at the kitchen island, fully equipped kitchen and double doors that open to a south facing elevated deck that looks out over the meadow. Comfy rocking deck chairs and gas grill makes the deck the place to be. The master bath has a large shower with plenty of room for 2. The master bedroom has a king bed, lots of dresser space to unpack all your gear and a washer and dryer. Downstairs you'll find another full bath and bedroom off the main hall. This bedroom has a queen bed and is dark and quiet for those who want a little deeper sleep. Then enter the great room. Lots of seating to watch a 42" TV with BlueRay and surround sound (sorry, no cable) or play games on our classic Sony Playstation. Too ancient? Bring your own and plug it in! The great room also has a pool table and wet bar including a mini fridge. This room is ideal for giving the kids lots of space, refreshments and entertainment while the adults hang out upstairs enjoying the serenity and feel of a rustic cabin. Off the great room is another spacious bedroom with a queen bed, dresser and a loveseat. Outside, enjoy lots of quiet as we're set away from the road which sees but a handful of cars a day. If you're lucky, you can see moose, elk or deer grazing in the meadow. Use the 2 1/2 car garage to park your cars and stage your outdoor gear. You'll need all wheel or 4x4 to get up the driveway if there's snow. We keep it plowed but a good cross wind will foil that effort.
The house sleeps 6 comfortably in beds but there are comfy couches and lots of space for a blow up mattresses in each room for kids if you're bringing families. And there's a Bonus! Out back is a small cabin that sleeps 2 in the loft and one on the main level. It has no heat or plumbing but is great in warmer months for overflow sleeping, a hideout for the kids or some private time for the adults.
We're 10 minutes to Alma or Fairplay, 45 minutes to Breckenridge, an hour to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and less than 35 miles from hiking, snowshoeing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, biking, fishing, rafting, kayaking, 14ers, fine dining and micro brew pubs.
