The Casita is ready!
Our current project is restoration of the landscape and gardens. In the immediate vicinity of the Casita we are restoring the gardens of the 18th century, sourcing genetically correct plant material from the era and propagation of cuttings taken from our existing ancient grape vines and walnut and nectarine trees. We have sourced an old rose found by an abandoned adobe, propagating cuttings from the last remaining Pear tree of the mission period, found at the La Purisma Mission and many other period specific historic plants.
The out lands have historically been cattle grazed. Here we are restoring the oak woodlands. Sourcing seed material from the remaining native plants on the property as well as bringing in additional plants native to this region.
If you are visiting during the holidays we invite you to join us for a holiday tradition of planting our coastal live oak Christmas trees.
We look forward to hosting your stay soon.
Wishing you all the best,
From the Gypsy Canyon Vineyard Casita team.
