Luxury self-catering beach villa - a modern 2 bed, 2 bath poolside villa.

Villa Valerie is set in the lush tropical gardens of a small gated beachfront holiday village, on the first floor with private balcony and views over the large and lovely swimming pool. See our website for more pics and info.


The villa sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms, one with king-size bed, one with two single beds which can be made into another king. Two and a half bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and designer-furnished living room, balcony for eating outdoors, private staircase down to the pools.


The village is right on Cas-en-Bas beach, where beach umbrellas and loungers are provided for guests. It is the only village on the bay, so no high-pressure beach hawkers. The villa offers peace and quiet (absolutely no TV) just 10 mins away from Rodney Bay's restaurants, marina, night-life and shops.


There is an 18 hole golf course just next door and there are plenty of lovely walks and hidden beaches to explore nearby. Kite-surfing school and horse-riding available along the beach, kayaking, zip-lining, diving in the crystal water, sailing and many other activities are on offer on this tiny, laid-back jewel of an island.


There is a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, toaster, washing machine and all linen is included, even beach towels.

There are no extra taxes to pay on top, just the local cleaning fee of $270 EC Dollars ($100 US) per booking, and electricity, which is metered so you only pay for what you use, at cost. Average use is $10-$25 US Dollars per day, it depends on how much the aircon is used.

Our stay in St. Lucia was fantastic. We spent 6 days in Valerie's Condo for our honeymoon, and we wouldn't have spent it any other way. The condo is very roomy and comfy. It's very nice and up to date. The pictures don't lie.

Being that we went in May the actual resort/hotel itself was closed because of the off season. But no matter it was actually probably better. We had the entire pool to ourselves everyday! The location is a super short distance to the beach where there is a kitesurfing school at. There's a strange and unusual seaweed problem in St Lucia and in other parts of the Caribbean right now so the actual beach itself wasn't super useable. But we decided to hike a little in Cotton Bay and found some hidden secret beaches that were even more beautiful and in very good condition.

Wonderful, relaxing stay at Villa Valerie

We spent a most enjoyable week staying in this lovely apartment, overlooking the large, enticing pool. The beach was just 50 yards away and we had a go at kite surfing, most exciting! We also drove to other nearby beaches and enjoyed the friday night "jump up" street party. Our host, Valerie, was very helpful, sent us lots of useful info and kept in touch via email during our stay. We will definitely be back again!

Villa and pool area nice, but very isolated location and non swimmable beach in rainy season

You need a car for this location!!!! Or pay a minimum of US$30 return to get to shops, swimmable beaches, etc. Note- the island has fixed prices between locations with little room for negotiation with drivers. You can not walk anywhere and there is no public transport in this area. The one location to eat nearby (Majories. On the beach) costs US$25 per plate for local food and is nothing special. Note, food in the supermarket is very expensive. You also have to pay extra for the electricity you use and a large cleaning fee on departure on top of your price.

In the end, we would have payed less for our two weeks staying at a 5 star all inclusive. The main bonus here was peace and quiet.

Inside the villa is fine, and the pool area is great- large and well kept, but the complex is almost abandoned. We liked the quiet- there were almost no other guests. Make sure you bring mosquito repelant and citronella candels.

The beach next to the villa was not swimmable during our stay- which was the rainy season. It started to clear in the middle of the stay (before looked liked mud and was full of seaweed), but then it rained again and went back to mud. I have seen pictures where it looked clear though, and it was quiet and private- again, there is nothing in this area.

Ideal place for families

We rented Valerie's apartment for 10 days during our Family's hollidays in February 2017. We've been really satisfied about the apartment (well equiped) and its location (just front the pool and 50 meters from the beach). Our kids were really pleased as well having made new friends at the pool. And Valerie has been very helpfull to assist us preparing our trip, which was very usefull for discovering this beautiful island.

Lovely apartment and fantastic pool

Valerie's villa is absolutely lovely. Well furnished, comfortable and we loved the mosquito nets over the bed which were useful at night. It was clean and the perfect size for a family of four. The pool is one of the best we've ever been to in a small resort - absolutely huge and our kids spent most of their time there. It is also next to the kiteboarding beach which was perfect for my husband. Valerie was prompt and courteous answering any of our queries especially since we booked last minute. She introduced us to her neighbour Max who was so helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this villa. If you go, just make sure you bring groceries your first day as there is nowhere to eat except Marjories on the beach which happened to be closed the night we arrived. It was quiet and peaceful at all times though, which was just perfect!

Well-Appointed Luxury Condo and A+ Owner!

We stayed in Valerie’s condo at the Villas at Cotton Bay the last week of March 2015. Let me just first start by saying that Valerie is one of the most responsive and friendly homeowners I have ever worked with on the HomeAway/VRBO network. My wife and I have probably stayed in about 10 vacation homes we have found through HomeAway and Valerie takes the cake in terms of A+ communication from a homeowner.

The Villas at Cotton Bay are on the east coast of the northern end of the island. We rented a small 4WD car through Courtesy Car Rentals and found that this was an excellent decision since it’s about a 5-10 minute drive to the “downtown” Rodney Bay/Reduit Beach area.

The condo was recently renovated when we stayed and beautifully appointed. The unit has modern furniture, a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, some type of marble/stone floor tiles throughout the property, and a giant master suite with a great master bath (including an amazing over-sized all-tile shower) – the second bedroom is nearly as large as the master and just as nice. The property also has a large patio with a spiral staircase to the lower level where you can easily walk to the pool or come in from the beach, as well as a private patio off the living room where you can sit out and enjoy your morning coffee or evening beer/cocktail. The property does not have central air conditioning, however, each of the two bedrooms has the wall-based A/C units that do a great job of cooling down the room (just keep the door to the bedroom shut). This was perfect for my wife and I as we enjoyed opening the two sets of French doors in the living room during the day and letting the natural breezes (coupled with a nice ceiling fan) flow through the kitchen/living area, but at night it was nice to have the A/C in the bedroom.

The resort grounds are a beautiful, fully-walled compound that is patrolled by resort facility 24 hours a day. The landscaping and grounds are tended to on a daily basis and the flora and fauna around the resort is top notch. It is also reassuring to see the security guards patrolling the property at night since the resort is in a remote area. There is a security guard at the gate to open and close the door for you any time of day or night, which is a nice touch.

We really enjoyed our stay at Valerie’s condo at Cotton Bay and felt that for the price this was an unbeatable deal and would recommend it to anyone!

St. Lucia oasis

This spacious, 2-bedroom, 2-1/2 bathroom suite is in a lovely resort with one of the best lap pools on the planet. It is a bit out of the way, so a car is essential if you want to get to the fabulous restaurants in Rodney Bay (too many to count) though calling a cab is certainly an option. The master bed has a wonderful king size bed, there are two sinks in the master bathroom and a large shower (we only used the one bedroom) There is well-stocked kitchen (in terms of utensils and dishes) for any cooking you may want to do (we cooked breakfast and used the micro-wave to heat up leftovers from the terrific restaurants) and the host makes sure the basics (toilet paper, paper towels, instant coffee and tee) are stocked. A lovely, relaxing stay in a clean, spacious, near-the pool and beach location.

Located in the loveliest part of St Lucia, Villa Valerie is in a small private holiday village on the north east coast, where the cooling sea breezes blow. It is right on Cas en Bas Beach, a safe, sandy bathing beach protected by an off-shore reef, and next to the only 18 hole championship golf course on the island. Villa Valerie is just 15 minutes by car from the shops, marina and restaurants of Rodney Bay. The regular 'Friday night jump-up' - a lively street party with dancing, drinks, food and live music is highly recommended.

St Lucia is a jewel in the Caribbean, English-speaking, with friendly locals who welcome tourists with open arms. It is renowned for its beaches and crystal clear waters - snorkelling and scuba diving are both popular.

You can sail and island-hop to nearby islands like Martinique or just enjoy a sunset cruise to view the majestic Pitons - two spectacular volcanic peaks near Soufriere - a world heritage site and one of the scenic highlights of the Caribbean. Other tourist attractions include a drive-in volcano, at Soufrière, with natural hot springs (take your bathers), the Botanical Gardens, hiking in the rain forests, and Pigeon Island National Park, which is home to Fort Rodney, an old British military base. The island is encircled by gorgeous beaches and yacht harbours, such as Marigot Bay. The interior has spectacular scenery, being mostly mountainous rain forest, which sometimes falls sheer to the sea, offering fantastic views and hiking opportunities. You can even climb to the summit of Gros Piton, 2,600 ft (500 m) above sea level - it is a two hour strenuous walk up and a shorter 1.5 hrs down again.

The St Lucia International Jazz festival in May draws crowds from around the world, with world-class musicians performing and a different party every night.

Try the local food such as coal pot - a delicious stew, traditional to native carib cultures which can be found at many local restaurants. Local cuisine is prepared throughout the island so, depending on where you are staying, ask a local if he or she knows someone/somewhere that prepares local food and you will be sure to be welcomed somewhere nearby. Many rum shacks in rural towns also prepare food if given advanced notice. Fish, veggie, chicken and goat meals are very common and usually come with a number of sides including salad, plantain, breadfruit, macaroni, and rice prepared a number of different ways.

The tropical weather ensures year-round sunshine and temperatures of around 80 degrees F. Expect rain showers from May to August, and cooling breezes year round. The dry season is from December to April.

No visas required for European or American citizens. Car hire is easy to arrange from the airport - they drive on the left in St Lucia. Taxis are inexpensive and accommodating - probably the best way to organise a tour of the island.
