“E komo mai” (Welcome) to beautiful Indigo Seas, on Maui’s sunny shore of Kihei. Located in the oceanfront complex Menehune Shores, it is steps to the beach. Indigo Seas has a peek-a-boo ocean view from the unit and the lanai. The lanai sits above a postcard perfect tropical garden and lawn that leads to the ocean. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee or evening mai tai while watching for breaching whales in what’s known as “The Whale Nursery”, where migrating humpback whales return each year December through April to give birth.
Come… enjoy our two-bedroom condominium tastefully decorated in the rich indigo blue of the Pacific Ocean. This spacious unit is appointed with everything you will need to make your stay in paradise comfortable and carefree while visiting the magical island of Maui.
Kihei is famous for it’s sunny, warm climate, making it a favorite destination for visitors. And while the trade winds offer a natural cool breeze, we also have air conditioning for your comfort.
Indigo Seas has a king size master bedroom with sliding doors to the lanai, ample storage space and flat screen television. Our luxury linens and comfortable beds receive great reviews and who doesn’t want to be spoiled while they are on vacation? And that’s our intention! The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be used as that or slid together to make a king size if our guests prefer. Two bathrooms give you room to spread out and make yourself at home, our plush towels add a level of luxury.
Our guests tell us that our kitchen is stocked better than theirs at home, which pleases us! We have provided quality cookware, dinnerware and drinkware, and all the little touches to make your stay relaxing. If you want to prepare meals you’ll have what you need. Kihei has wonderful and diverse restaurants so it’s up to you whether you venture out or stay in.
Adjacent to the resort is the visitors center for the whale sanctuary, created by Congress in 1992 to protect humpback whales and their habitat in Hawaii. The sanctuary, which consists of the shallow waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands, constitutes one of the world’s most important humpback whale habitats. The visitors center offers an excellent opportunity to learn about marine life conservation. We feel privileged to have this visitor’s center right next door.
In front of the sanctuary and the entire complex is the historic Ko’ie’ie Fish Pond, also known as The King’s Fish Pond, dating back to the 1500’s. According to local legend it was built by the Menehunes, known for their strength and ability, and said to have built the pond in just one evening. The adjacent beach, Kalepolepo, is loved by locals and visitors for its safe and shallow gentle surf, ideal for children and those who enjoy the calmness.
As you enter the complex, there is ample complimentary parking. Majestic palms, lush tropical foliage lead you to a beach-front swimming pool with large sundeck. An on-site restaurant and lounge are conveniently located on the first floor, a popular place for sunset dining. There is a roof top area with a full kitchen and barbeques, an ideal spot for weddings, reunions, or your party. And the good news…as our guest there is no added fee for using this rooftop facility. Just reserve the space and enjoy your 180 degree ocean views.
In the true Aloha spirit, we welcome your visit with us. Our home is your home and we are here to help you have your time in Maui be the vacation of a lifetime.
