This beautiful, historic, little house was built in 1932 and has been in our family since 1967 when my mother bought it. It is right in the heart of the hill, just two blocks from the Eastern Market metro station. Nestled in the middle of the block, surrounded by great neighbors, it is a unique historic gem. Once you enter the red front door you will walk into a comfortable living room with wood floors, a fire place, smart tv, a couch and a table for dining. There is a half bath off the living room and a very small but fully equipped kitchen. As you pass through the kitchen to the back door, you will find a quiet back yard perfect for relaxing or morning coffee al fresco. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One with a queen bed. The other with a bunk bed and a twin size day bed. The upstairs bathroom has a shower with a tub. This house is the perfect place for a family to stay, ideal for a group of friends and an amazing spot for a romantic get away.

Perfect spot for our family!
Lovely home with all the amenities. We enjoyed our stay so much and the location was perfect.
Charming home in a great location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Washington DC at this home! We stayed with our family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) for 4 nights and did lots of sightseeing in our nation's capital. We mainly used Lyft to get to and from the nearby attractions, but a Metro station is only a couple blocks away. We shopped at Trader Joe's down the street for several breakfast items and snacks. The home is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants. Worth noting, the living room has more seating than pictured, with plenty of room for a family to hang out. Clean home with comfortable beds, lots of fresh linens and a well-stocked kitchen. Highly recommend!
Top class accommodation
Comfortable and safe. House is fully equipped for both eating in or out. Access to all of DC easy and metro passes a nice touch. Bathroom facilities even though small for bigger crowd (5/6adults) worked very well with a terrific shower. We enjoyed our 5 days in DC even though a long way from home (Ireland) and this house was easily equivalent to most 4/5 star hotels, would recommend highly.
This is the most thoughtful and well appointed place for a family traveling to the city!
Comfortable, tasteful, everything you need and location location location!
Great apartment in a fantastic location. Super clean and the owner was fantastic.
Great apartment in a fantastic location. It was very clean and there were lots of thoughtful touches. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with.
Fantastic and amazing!
I've stayed with my family of 4 in a lot of VRBOs for many years and this one is at the top of the list of the best. Accomodations were perfect for a family of 4, even roomy for a house so close to the Nation's Capital. The house was clean, the linens and bedding all white, leaving no question as to the cleanliness of things. This was most appreciated. The kitchen facilitated cooking, which we did for breakfasts. The appointments were just right - not overstuffed but what was provided had a function and was so appreciated. I am sure I've not stayed before in such a thoughtfully furnished and appointed VRBO. This VRBO is a role model for others to aspire to. I also want to recognize the reasonable payment policy this owner maintains. I made our reservation 6 months ago. I made a payment at that time to secure the reservation but did not have to pay the rest until a few weeks ahead of our trip. So many owners require 100% payment at the time of reservation and this always feels unreasonable. There is no question this VRBO is well located, comfortable, clean, and worth staying in.
Our house is located right in the heart of the Eastern Market neighborhood on Capitol Hill. The Eastern Market Metro Station is just 2 and a half blocks away. One stop to the Capitol, Four stops to the National Mall and the Smithsonian, Six stops will put you right smack dab in the middle of downtown DC.
Right outside our door the Eastern Market area is very dynamic with shops, restaurants and theaters. It is also a historic neighborhood with brick row houses, beautiful gardens and tree lined streets. Our house is on a quiet street just two blocks from the all the action. The perfect spot to land in at the end of a day or night on the town and just kick back and relax.
