This historic Spanish villa was originally built by Santa Barbara builder, Alex D’Alfonso in 1926. A driving force behind the transition of Santa Barbara architecture toward the Spanish Colonial Revival style, D’Alfonso built many of Santa Barbara’s landmarks, including St. Francis Medical Convent, the first Sambos Restaurant, the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and Mausoleum at the Old Mission, and the original home for the Fielding Institute. It was remodeled and designed by Laguna/Los Angeles based desginer John Wooden completing the renovation of the originally 5 bedrooms to a 3 suites home. Casa Colina encompasses exquisite vintage details, dramatic city/ocean/harbor views, beautiful welcoming oaks, gardens and just under a useable acre of private grounds. It was updated in 2012 and we were diligent in keeping and restoring the original features and all fixtures, however updating with a modern design twist and adding a large pool, large jacuzzi, outdoor bathroom and shower.
