Pretty good

  • 4 of 5

It is a lovely house. But, It would be nice if the owner would have advised us in anticipation about the construction work and drilling in the immediate area, starting at 8:00 am.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback, David. We're at the house today, and the new house under construction down the road is now fully framed out, roofed, and insulated. Sorry that it caused an issue!

Stunning house and great family weekend!!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is amazing and the view is incredible. There were many fun hours spent by the awesome fireplace. Although the house has plenty of room to spread out, everyone wanted to spend time together in the living room. What a truly perfect weekend with our family!!

The house is beautiful. The views will take your breath away!!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to David & Nancy’s quick response, we were able to book a very last minute getaway to Massanutten. Our kids school was unexpectently closed for a few days, and my friend and I thought there is no better time then now to let our kids learn to ski! The house surpassed our expectations. When we walked in, all 5 kids were squealing with joy that this is the coolest house they have ever seen and wanted to know if we could move here. The location of the house within the massanutten community is so convienent to all of the activities. Speaking of activities, my children have requested to come back for at least “2 weeks” so that they could do everything! But during the 2.5 wonderful days we had, all 5 kids learned to ski & loved it. We enjoyed the water park, snow tubing, magic show, arcade and just hanging together in the beautiful family room.

My only negative is the driveway. It is very unnerving to navigate due to the steep incline and how narrow it is. But that has to be the trade off for these spectacular views, so I’ll take it!

Perfect birthday weekend

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was the perfect retreat for our little girl’s birthday weekend. There was plenty of room for our family, including grandparents. The house and view were amazing. The kitchen was stocked well enough to cook a huge birthday dinner. All the activities at Massanutten were perfect to keep an active five-year-old happy. Sitting by the fire, playing games was a favorite spot for us. The driveway was a bit intimidating at first but no issue by the end of the stay.

Shenandoah Peak is surrounded by deep Civil War history. Right in the heart of Stonewall Jackson's Shenandoah Campaign of 1862, the log home is within a short drive to the Cross Keys and Port Republic battlefields. You will also be just 40 minutes from the New Market battlefield, the site of one of the South's last victories (May 1864) which hosts an annual reenactment each spring. The Virginia Museum of the Civil War is also located in New Market.
