About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8

You'll be in awe of the tropical luxury and mountainous jungle vistas at this four-bedroom eco retreat, a unique and inspiring Belizean estate with breathtaking outdoor terraces, a private crystal clear jungle swimming pool, and miles of beautiful hiking trails.

This hilltop villa sits on more than 50 acres in an eco paradise comprised of spectacular mountains, valleys, and verdant jungle landscapes, offering a network of maintained trails for walking and hiking. You'll enjoy luxurious privacy surrounded by fruit orchards and a Tilapia pool, just 400 yards from the Hummingbird Highway, 11 miles from Five Blues Lake National Park, 25 miles west of the Caribbean shores of Dangriga, and 25 miles southeast of central Belmopan. Due to safety concerns, this home is not suitable for guests traveling with children under seven years old. If you would like help finding a more family-friendly rental, please call Vacasa for assistance!

Designed and built in 2010 by its owner (who resides on the property half of the year), Pineapple Hill is a seamless blend of man-made elegance and the wonders of nature. The living space, which is powered by hydroelectric and solar energy, features intricate thatched ceilings and exotic wood floors and furnishings that were crafted by local artisans.

Open the windows, turn on the tropical ceiling fans, and gaze in admiration at the lush jungle that surrounds you. Curl up with a book on the sofa, set up a board game at the coffee table, or use the provided WiFi to plan your daily adventures. There's even a sound dock stereo system to provide a soothing soundtrack as you fix snacks and drinks in the open kitchen.

The heart of this estate is in its picturesque outdoor spaces, which include a wrap-around balcony, a fully screened bamboo terrace, an open-air living room, and a treehouse-style deck that overlooks the property against the backdrop of the Maya Mountains. Take afternoon naps in the hammock, read magazines in the cushioned lounge chairs, and sip your morning coffee as you watch the sun illuminate the hills.

Spend your days relaxing in the private outdoor pool with an infinity edge or dipping your feet in the pristine waters of the natural deep pool (which is shared with one other home on the property). Throw your bathing suits in the washer/dryer, request a few fresh tilapia from the on-site farm, and light the grill for a summer barbecue.

Back in the elegant kitchen, you'll find richly hued wood cabinetry for your groceries, modern appliances, and a dining table with ample seating for eight. You can spend the rest of the evening watching DVDs from the film library or enjoy your favorite channels on satellite TV.

With three bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and two full bathrooms, Pineapple Hill will sleep a total of eight guests. Two of the bedrooms are outfitted with king-size beds, while the third bedroom offers a queen-size bed. The sleeping loft on the 3rd level is outfitted with a daybed that can easily be converted to an "extra large" king-size bed (larger than a normal king-size) for rest and relaxation while you enjoy gorgeous mountain views.

Thanks to its incredibly central location, this gated jungle property provides a scenic home base for travelers looking to explore the best of Belize. In addition to the unrivaled natural scenery just outside your door, you'll enjoy easy access to the capital city of Belmopan 30 miles northwest and two gorgeous national parks - Five Blues Lake and Blue Hole - only 11 and 16 miles away, respectively. Ziplines, waterfalls, rivers, caves, and beaches are all within 25 miles of Pineapple Hill.

If you're eager to see some of the famous Caribbean coast, you need only drive to Hopkins 35 miles east. You'll also be just 61 miles north of Placencia, the scenic peninsula known its tranquil, palm-lined beaches and resident manatees.

Come and experience one of the most stunning homes in all of Belize - you’ll remember this Belmopan jungle eco retreat for years to come.

About Vacasa, Belize - Cayo District Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Very beautiful place. Everything you could ask for.

  • 5 of 5

Had family vacation, with grown children and grandchildren. Wonderful place to stay. A wonderful lady (Mary) from neighborhood village cooked our meals and delivered them to use. Definitely the way to go. Bring a lot of bug spray. Children loved the pools, picking the fruit and the jungle experience. Loved watching the toucans.

This house is even more beautiful in person than it is in the photos!

This house is even more beautiful in person than it is in the photos! Our Vacasa ambassador, Sheldon, met us at the house and gave us an overview before we settled in. He was in constant contact with us for any of our needs. He also put us in touch with someone who lived close to the property should we have any immediate concerns. We were able to eat the produce from the property, and indulged in limes, oranges, mangos, and coconuts. Eugenio, the property caretaker, was very helpful. He even cut our coconuts open with a machete so we could drink the coconut water!

The lagoon on the property is a little ways down from the house we stayed at, but SO worth a walk or drive down the hill. We spent plenty of time relaxing in the inner tubes provided and reading/drinking on the water.

We were a little taken aback by the steep road to this house that is a bit rocky, but the people who live on the property helped us get up the hill and we were pros in no time (get a running start!) There are frogs who visit at night and chorus particularly loudly outside the bottom bedroom by the pool.

We had no complaints about our stay, and the house offers breathtaking views of Belize. Make sure you take advantage of the outdoor shower!

So beautiful and serene

  • 4 of 5

We loved this place before we even saw it because of the interaction we had with Steve who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip. We came with elderly parents and school age children and the house was perfect for the 6 of us. Marvin helped us pick fruit from the orchard on the property and the kids loved the jungle pool. Only downside was the mosquitoes so I recommend coming prepared with bug spray and long pants. Also, remember that the house is designed to not use many resources so it may not be just like home but that's the point, right? It was a great location and Steve and Nancy were great!
