Best View in Madrid!
This apartment has the best view in Madrid and is centrally located for most of the best sights to see. Mr. Vazquez thought of everything needed to make us comfortable, even meeting us at the apartment to show us around and give tips on what to see. The apartment is small (size of average hotel room) but well equipped, and that view!! I highly recommend!
Thank you, Kelly! It was great having both of you. Looking forward to seeing you again! José
Amazing Property and host!
We arrived late due to late planes and Jose was more than welcoming after waiting for us to arrive a few hours late. He offered beer and wine which was much appreciated! The view is incredible and the apartment has everything you need. I would definitely stay here again!
Needs cleaning and supervision
Stayed here for 3 nights. Of course, looking at the square footage tells you this is a tiny place. We were a party of 3, with one couple. Bed very thin and could feel wood underneath (and no, I am not at all overweight). The 3rd of us slept on one of two hide-a-benches with a thin cushion for a "mattress." Thank goodness for ibuprofen.
(1) On check-in, NO IDENTIFICATION was asked for, nor was it ever -- I just said my name and room, out came a guest a book I had to sign, but the desk clerk had no process of identification, not even a list or paper to consult. I was given the keys that easily.
(2) The flat is the 20th floor, yet the elevator cannot hold 3 people and their luggage of any reasonable size
(3) The flat was NOT acceptably clean -- dust thick on counter and shelves; smudgy, grimy window obviously not recently cleaned; particulate matter on floor (needed sweeping)
(4) Bed linens seemed clean on the fold-down, Japanese-style bed - yet the bed was already made, which was incongruous to the keeping of the rest of the place, as above
(5) There were NO spoons in the place, and very old and gross condiments in the refrigerator that should have been thrown away
(6) Owner Jose not physically available per his email, as he was away on business (we were warned of this ahead of time)
In short, I recommend AGAINST this place especially at the price, and there needs to be MUCH more oversight (cleaning and security) or I think it should be off VRBO, especially since it costs extra due the VRBO status.
Super appartment and top view.
We will come back to Madrid-
"Stunning Panorama and Connection to Madrid"
This is a total view experience, probably one of the very best in Madrid. We sat at the wide open window - 20 floors up (dizzying) - several evenings with a bottle of fine Spanish wine and watched the night unfold over Madrid. Great views of the National Palace, all the way across the city to Prado and Park Retiro...and totally beyond these city center landmarks and far into the outer metro regions and within sight of approaching international flights. The apartment itself is very modern, but compact. There is a washer/dryer, tiny kitchen with quality cooking items and flat screen (we didn't watch TV). WiFi worked at times if you sat by the open window. The WiFi was from the adjoining hotel. The property also has access to the adjoining hotel's spa (swimming pool, jacuzzi/sport's machines)...we only went there once since we seemed to get back to the hotel on Spanish hours (1AM+) and the pool closes at 9PM. Connections into the city are exceptionally easy. There is a metro station 50 meters from the door, taxis are always nearby and walking is the best as it's only 10 minutes to the National Palace, and all the streets that lead from that venue. There are also several food shops within 2 blocks, with a nice grocery store and bakery to facilitate cooking a few meals at the place. The staff at the apartment desk was very helpful as were the people in the adjoining hotel. Overall, this was a great place to spend a week in Madrid. And Jose - the owner - was very communicative and trusting in helping set up our reservation. We had a fabulous time in Madrid...what a great city! Jon & Oxana
This is the place for you! Perfect apartment
This apartment is the absolute tops! In every way possible: Studio, Host and Location are all more the you can dream of. Speaking of tops....you will be on the 20 floor of the Melia Hotel in the residential section of a very nice hotel! The host Jose has created a perfect place overlooking Madrid for you to enjoy. He really cares that his guests enjoy themselves. He treated us to breakfast and pointed out things in his neighborhood that we would enjoy. He checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Such personalized service is most unusual and we really appreciated his caring to be sure our stay was a great one. He is a well known musician with an interesting background but you have to pull that info out of him. Very humble. His studio has been lovingly crafted to offer you the very best stay possible. All superior quality furnishings. The full time doormen dedicated to the residents were so helpful and knew all the answers. Nice to have around.
The location cannot be beat. Central to places you want to see and convenient to dining and shopping. You simply cannot have a better location and the view of it from the apartment is stunning!
All in all, this is a rare find. Do not hesitate. Treat yourself to unprecedented luxury location and hospitality in this wonderful studio!
It was a treat for me to host you, Darlene: you were great guests! Welcome back anytime!
