We loved the location of the apartment and it was clean and had everything we needed.
There was a slight mix up with the keys but Indira was fast responding and got everything worked out. We actually got to meet Indira the next day and she was lovely and gave great recommendations for restaurants in the area. The apartment was just as pictured and perfect for our stay. We loved having access to the cute little backyard area. The location of the apartment was great we were able to walk all around the Garden District. When visiting New Orleans again we will definitely see if this apartment is available.
Owner responded quickly to any requests. Property was close to public transportation.
Property was close to public transportation within 4 blocks. Owner went out of her way to respond to requests that we made. Back patio was a great spot to relax at end of day. Everything we needed was available to us.
St. Patrick's Day weekend visit to the Irish Channel
Checking in went smoothly. All we had to do was unlock the key from the lock box. When inside the building I think it would help if you would name the different rooms (doors). We were a little unsure which door to unlock, but we did pick the right one! Maybe name them after flowers or something. The only disappointment was regarding our bed. In the VRBO add is was stated to be a King Size. It was a Queen Size. Also the mattress was quite soft. Maybe a new, firmer mattress in King Size would be a great addition. The kitchen was very well equipped. Spices and coffee and some beer were stocked! One other item that could use some attention would be in the bathroom. We are an older couple and the bathtub was very slippery for our showers. We were very careful - so no injuries! Maybe a rubber mat to be placed in the tub would give guests a firmer foothold while showering. My only other suggestion would be to put a little more effort into the decorations. Maybe some posters on the wall. All and all the space was quite adequate .
Unsavory neighborhood. Too loud, and dangerous.
The manager and owner were both very nice. The unit was part of a large house with very thin walls. I could here the person in the next unit snoring and using the bathroom. The drunk people coming in late at night were loud and inconsiderate. The neighborhood was seedy with visible drug dealing and lots of vulgar yelling. Walking home from my conference one evening I was verbally threatened by a person sitting in his SUV with his window down, just around the corner from the unit. The building right next door is a liqour store with shady characters hanging out in front. Overall, not the type of area I imagined when reading about the property before my arrival.
I really enjoyed my stay at the apartment on Washington Street! It was near my family who live there and was made very warm by the gas heaters on those cold days and nights! I slept very well in the comfortable bed, and I enjoyed having access to the refrigerator to store water and food.
Also, the architectural accents in the historical building were very charming! the updates blended well---I would stay there again!
Enjoyed our stay near Magazine and the river. Close to Loyola and Tulane. Indira checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely keep in mind for our next visit. Price was good!
