We have spend 5 days at the condo and it was beautiful, if you like a great walk to the mountain just a you're door , a view that you will not forget and a beautiful beach at 5 min in car...
This unit hit on all of the things we were looking for!
Six weeks of paradise!! There are 3 basic things we want when we travel: Good location, good amenities, good owner. The Makaha Valley Towers is a fantastic location! Nestled in the Makaha Valley, we were greeted every morning by the sun coming over the mountains and lighting up the ocean on the other side. The proximity to Makaha beach (great snorkeling, surfing, and lyin' about beach) made water sports easy and included spectacular sunsets almost every night. For the hardy snorkelers, there is a turtle cleaning station just beyond where the waves break. There were at least 6 turtles being cleaned by fish every time we snorkeled out there. We found several hiking trails into Makaha valley where we found some lilikoi just ripe for the taking (yummy!). Don't miss the hike to Ka'ena Point state park! Saw many whales and the albatross eggs were hatching in early February. Waianae is a small town with all the essentials, but not much for night life. Groceries, restaurants, scuba/snorkel/whale watching trips (we saw whales most days we were there!), deep sea fishing all were close by and run with a friendly, small-town attitude. For night life, you can drive 40 minutes to Kapolei or a bit over an hour to Honolulu. The unit was a studio, so not a lot of room but very nicely laid-out with a full kitchen, a good size bathroom, and queen size bed. There was a nice little balcony where we could sit and see both mountains and ocean!
All the things you would expect were there, such as dishes, cookware, toaster, blender, bedding, towels, etc. Beyond the basics, the owners supplied snorkel gear (good quality), 3 large beach towels, 2 beach chairs, and 2 boogie boards. These extras were used and appreciated. The condo complex is very well maintained with excellent security, friendly office personnel, a salt water pool, and a grilling area. The owners responded to questions within minutes and were very laid back, encouraging us to just have fun!! All-in-all, this was a reasonably priced way to enjoy Oahu and we hope we get to do it again soon!
Cozy and beautiful!
Very beautiful and the scenery around is amazing ! Didn’t want to leave room!
The place was clean and well-kept but not in a nice or safe area
We loved the actual apartment and the complex it was in, other than the light that is outside the front door. There isn't anything blocking the light so it came right into the apartment all night long. It felt like we were sleeping with the lights on. the staff at the complex were extremely nice and helpful. The location isn't the best, it's so far away from everything else on the island. The surrounding town is definitely not nice, being two women, we were scared to walk around the streets by ourselves.
The perfect, serene getaway away from the city.
We had a wonderful stay here in Makaha Valley. The security are very nice and the peacocks are so adorable. The condo has such a beautiful view all day and night. The beach is right there and if you travel north on the 93, it just gets more beautiful. There is a cave entrance down that way that people like to go into. You will find offerings inside, but I suggest not going in since it disrupts the spirits that reside there. It was an awesome way to visit Oahu...way better than a hotel.
