Cute getaway

  • 5 of 5

Place was just right for us. Just wanted a clean place to sleep. We were in the area for a 3 day music festival, and I don't camp, so this worked for us. Was farther than we thought it was going to be, but overall a nice place to stay. Owner was very easy to work with. Responded quickly to all my questions.

Jean was responsive and thoughtful. Cabin is near many activities and very well maintained.

  • 5 of 5

It was warm while we were there. While we were out one day, Jean was thoughtful enough to have a stand-alone air cooler installed in our room. Also, knowing that we were there for a special visit, she surprised us with a card and gift. The mineral pools at Mount Princeton are close by, Mount Elmo was a interesting morning with lots of wildlife and history, Golf courses in both Salida and Buena Vista, a high altitude ropes course and zip line, and white water rafting are all with in about 30 minutes of the cabin. There is no phone service, but that was nice to be away. Wi-fi is available along with dvd’s And a large screen TV. Highly recommend.

Comfortable, clean bedrooms with small fridges, microwaves, and full bathrooms.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is wonderfully located across from a wildlife viewing meadow. Mule deers and prairie dogs abound! There are great views of mountains. The cabin has two bedrooms but they're not connected internally which surprised us and then worked out fine. There is a designated hiking trail nearby and the road itself serves as a hiking path. It's 6 miles from main north-south road. Grocery stores and restaurants in Buena Vista not Nathrop (that we found).

good overall

  • 4 of 5

suited our needs as we wanted to fish down the road and check out St. Elmos. SUPER CLEAN, which I appreciate in a rental. Not as private as I would have liked. The grill advertised in this post is either a) a camping grill that is in the closet or b) the grill that goes with the main cabin on this property. If the main cabin had been occupied during our stay then I probably would have been miserable. It didn't occur to me that since there is no kitchen, there is also no plates or utensils if you wanted to cook on the grill. This would be ideal to rent with a group of people so you could have access to the main cabin.

Cozy, charming and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

Just what we needed! A quick getaway before spring break. The cabin is small, but well thought out. No kitchen, but a microwave and mini fridge met our needs. Just down the road from the hot springs, and we enjoyed a few dinners in BV. Jean is quick to respond and it was easy to reserve our time. We did rent the additional unit downstairs, but never entered. We may consider visiting again, and bring the family! The stream is nearby and wildlife viewing across the road. Visited Cascade Falls and St. Elmo. The little bit of snow and ice just glimmered!

Beautiful secluded mountain property!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were looking to retreat from the everyday. This place will let you do it! Your phone doesn’t work, other than wifi. the TV doesn’t get any channels except a small collection of DVD’s and any additional DVD’s you choose to bring. It’s very close (about 3 miles) from Mt Princeton hot springs. And, local food is about 20-30 minutes away in Buena Vista or Salida. About 40-45 minutes from Monarch Mountain means it is ski/snowboard accessible. The listing does not misrepresent in any way. It is a nice affordable place to stay with everything you need. A soft bed with nice linens, a hot shower, minifridge, and coffeemaker! And, we got good responses from Jean when we needed a little information. We will be staying here again!
