This 40 square metre apartment faces both the sea and the mountains and is found in the medieval Corsican village of Chiatra. It is newly renovated, and provides its guests a fully-equipped independent kitchen, living room, separate bedroom and bathroom.
In the past this apartment was part of a watchtower. It is an exceptional location, and it was chosen as the watchtower site as it allowed for a complete panoramic view of the surrounding area, therefore ensuring the wellbeing of the local inhabitants.
Due to its location between the sea and the mountains, you are never far away from anything. Within ten minutes you could be strolling on pristine sandy beaches, or entering a forest of sweet chestnut trees.
On top of a hill 350 metres in height, the local village of Chiatra is ideally located allowing you to escape summer mosquitos during the height of summer, whilst allowing you reach some of the main places of interest on the island, including Bastia and Porto-Vecchio. A mere ten minute drive is a shopping centre named Alistro. It has a supermarket, pharmacy, newsagents, and shops, as well as a doctor’s practice if necessary.
The local area offers a multitude of activities, including windsurfing, diving and canoeing, as well as a local nature reserve which has a wide choice of hikes and horse riding opportunities. The region is also renowned throughout Corsica for its winemaking, therefore, tours of local vineyards and cellars are also an option. Furthermore, cheese and cooked meats (particularly local salamis) are made locally and can be bought directly from their producers.
Finally, in the two nearby ponds of Diana and Urbino oysters are fished, and served at restaurants that have been built on the ponds, one on each. The oysters produced here are considered to be among the best in the Mediterranean, and they can be purchased directly from local producers. Many of these food products can also be bought at an organic food market that is held weekly in a nearby village.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
