LOCATION: Winterhaus is in the Town of Vail and a 5 min. drive to Vail Village and is located in a desirable East Vail neighborhood. Free Vail Town Shuttle stops every 15-20 minutes during peak times. 4094 B Lupine Drive Vail CO 81657 (detailed directions also will be sent 3 days prior to guest arrival.)

PRIVACY: Winterhaus Guests experience privacy, without "issues" associated with condos or multi-unit dwellings.

INTERIOR: This is a "functional" home. The interior is modern, clean, uncluttered. This home is not the level of a 5 star resort.

RENTING A HOUSE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE:

Be realistic about the level of attention, service /amenities you desire. This home has been renovated, however, if you desire a new residence, concierge service, valet, bellman, bath amenities, or on-site maintenance, we suggest booking a FULL SERVICE HOTEL. There are many lovely hotels in Vail.

THE RENTAL PROCESS- If your requested dates are available and pricing is acceptable, please request a Rental Agreement. Make sure your reservation request includes an accurate guest count and your desired services/extras. Once received you will be emailed a custom quote for a maximum of 8 adults.

LOCATION: Extremely close to the town shuttle stop (1 min or less), trailheads, skiing & hiking.

MEDIA/TV: Do not consider this home if you wish to watch major sporting events. The TV's are located in 2 of 3 bedrooms, one which seats 6 guests There are options in Vail Village to view events on larger TV's.

LINENS: Towels, duvet covers, sheets are nice quality. Duvet covers, sheets, mattress cover and pillow protectors are laundered after each guest departure. ("musty bedcoverings" do not exist in this home)

LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT: Provided at no extra charge to guests staying 5 (or more) nights. For short stays, laundry can be activated for a fee.

AVAILABILITY: The Winterhaus calendar is updated daily.

MAID SERVICE/CHECK-OUT: Your "exit cleaning" is included in your quote. (price range is between $170-$260). Mid-stay towel exchange or extra housekeeping services can be arranged for a fee. If you wish to stay in the home beyond 10 AM check-out time, please request a later departure time at least 48 hours in advance. An additional cost will apply. For liability reasons, maids and property management are unable to begin services while guests, or their belongings, remain inside the home. Failure to depart by the specified check-out time will result in a ONE NIGHT PENALTY charge, PLUS additional management fees.

MOVING "PARTS"- If an appliance or media equipment malfunctions, we'll make an effort to remedy the issue within 48 hours. We are unable to guarantee immediate repair, service, or replacement for the following items: TV, Internet router, fireplace, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, washer/dryer, water heater, refrigerator, garbage disposal, boot dryer, iron, humidifier, heaters, fan, heated mattress pads, remote controls, lightbulbs, lamps, microwave, jetted tub or blowdryers.

MAINTENANCE: This is NOT a new home. If guests discover (or cause) maintenance issues such as a carpet stain, chipped grout, scratched floor, leaky faucet, or other minor issues, we will schedule repairs between guest stays to conduct the least amount of disruption. We understand this is your vacation, so we schedule minor repairs when guests are not occupying the home.

RENTING A HOUSE ONLINE:

HINT #1: When sifting through profiles, READ descriptions thoroughly to know what you're booking. Call or email us if you must remain within a specific budget and we can make a custom quote for you.

HINT#2: FREE "Town Shuttle" is what distinguishes Vail from other resorts. ALL houses, located on the Vail town shuttle route have a Vail zip code (81657). Parking is $35 a day to park in Vail Village lot. Most guests use the town shuttle b/c parking is limited. (Some properties have a 15 min. walk to closest shuttle stop).

HINT #3: Vail Village is has a unique, European charm. If you're considering a rental home in the "Vail Valley" region, VRBO lists Vail homes listed as far as 46 miles away from Vail Village.

HINT #4: How do the photos grab you? Some listings hide bathroom / bedroom photos. (ask for more photos if they have been excluded). Are you comfortable with the layout of the home you choose to rent?

HINT #5 Guest Reviews:

On VRBO there is a property detail designating the # of years a property has been listed on VRBO/Home Away. Property listing which indicates "NO REVIEWS", usually indicates a home owner has omitted reviews due to negative reviews. VRBO gives owners an "all or nothing" option for reviews. We view a bad review as a way to make future improvements.

BEDROOM CONFIGURATION:

~ MASTER BEDROOM #1-on the upper level features a KING size, pillow-top bed and small flat screen TV. This room has a large bathroom with a shower & a separate deep soaking, jetted hot tub. King bedroom features skylights allowing you to wake up with massive lodge pole pine trees above you. The Mountain views from this guest room is stunning. This bright, sunny bedroom is perfect for early risers who enjoy waking-up with sunshine. Late risers should choose the lower king guest room.

~ BUNK ROOM- This room sleeps 3 children (or two adults). This tiny bedroom features a full-size bed, with a twin bed on top. A twin bed is adjacent to the bunk bed. A shared lavatory features a rain shower with real pebbles on the floor and walls. Three adults in this small bedroom is not suggested.

~QUEEN BED ROOM- a mid-level with a platform bed. This sunny room features a tiny balcony with west facing views of Bald Mountain. Queen room shares a lavatory with the bunk room.

~ KING BEDROOM #2 Bedroom with a KING bed. This room adjoins the lower TV area and there is NO dividing wall/barrier. The lavatory is accessed outside the bedroom entrance. The 3/4 lavatory features a rain shower & modern tiling.

~TV Area- This room has a flat screen TV and DVD player. With a large leather sectional plus a recliner chair and three bean bag chairs, this area comfortably seats 6 adults. This area is part of the lower master bedroom. (not separated)

~ LIVING AREA-SOLARIUM- Comfortable gathering space with leather couch & electric fireplace.

~ KITCHEN/DINING- The kitchen has both counter-top seating and a dining table which seats 6 guests. This kitchen is NOT a "designer kitchen". It is functional, but does NOT feature appliance "upgrades" This area hosts a flat screen TV.

JETTED TUB- In the upper, master bathroom. (only use this "huge tub" when hot water is not needed elsewhere in the home.

NO "HOT TUB"~ There is NOT an outdoor hot tub at Winterhaus. Owners of Winterhaus, focus on providing a germ / chemical free environment for our guests. A hot tub compromises hygienic standards. If a hot tub is important, we can direct guests to a club a few minutes from home for a fee.

ENTRY AREA- Winterhaus has ample storage space for snow sports gear, as well as hiking, fishing gear in the summer. This casual area features boot dryers for up to six pairs of ski/snowboard boots.

PATIO AND SUNDECK- The grill is located next to the front patio in summer months only. The dining table / chairs seats 6-8. In SUMMER months only, the deck features outdoor couch, chairs and small table. The patio and deck furniture is available May-September. The 1/4 acre yard is forested with ample space for children to play in summertime and wintertime

The entry path, Deck, and Backyard are not maintained in the winter. A snow shovel is provided for guests to clear snow of the entry path and in the backyard. Snow removal service is not included, but we can arrange it for additional fee.

PETS- We offer hygienic standards Winterhaus can NOT accommodate pets.

What makes this house unique

~ Vail Village SKI LOCKER access. After days on the slopes, leave your skis in a safe location, remove your boots, slip on your comfortable shoes. Store your helmet, hat, gloves, sunscreen, glove warmers, lip balm in this locker. Head to a bar or coffee shop to enjoy "apres ski" beer, wine, coffee before heading home. No concern about your skis. Does this sound like a vacation yet?

We booked Winterhouse for girls weekend. It was a blast! The home is cozy

without being crowded and we loved the easy access to Vail. The bus stop was

just outside the door and everyone could set their own schedule for going to

the slopes. The complimentary town shuttle is also great because it runs until 2pm, so we didn't have to cut our time at the wine bar short! The bedding was divine. The one downside to Winterhouse is that it can't comfortably sleep more than 9 people and we usually like to have 12 ladies.

New Years Eve in Vail 2016/2017

We rented the house over the New Years holiday. I have two girls and we really enjoyed the house. The home was spacious and suited our modern families needs. Location is a 5-7 minutes or so to the main village, which made it close but not too close. The house was furnished with most everything one could ask for when staying in a place like this rental. I would recommend the house to anyone.

Amazing House

This house is so lovely and the flowers were in full bloom in Vail Village. The sound of the creek was a great background "noise" throughout our stay.

We've rented and enjoyed this home in the past, so we could not pass up a last minute SALE! The only drawback was that the owners do not accept pets, so we had to leave our dogs behind.

We LOVE this Vail Village location

We loved having two payment options (check or credit card)

Beware... we searched for a home in "Vail", but the search on VRBO showed rentals 37 miles away from Vail. Only after some research we realized this home is in Vail. Aileen, the owner, was friendly and accommodating.

Splendid

We have rented many properties online but this house is our favorite. The owner was responsive, professional and amenable to my "particular" needs.

As in the VRBO description, this home feels like a top rated hotel. The sheets and bed coverings are decadent and our bed was extremely comfortable. We spent an afternoon on the patio which is sunny, surrounded by aspen trees with the Gore Creek close by. We enjoyed an evening in Vail Village and enjoyed being driven, both directions, on the convenient town shuttle. This place is a hidden gem.

Great place for a ski group!

With a close bus stop and four bedrooms (the living room/bedroom has a door) this was a great space for a group of friends to relax and enjoy all Vail has to offer. Vail is a favorite ski resort and this is the rental our group will be returning to!
