This almost new, sophisticated, one-story home is located in Upper Ajijic. It is a smaller home on a lovely brick-paved street shared by many larger, expensive, upscale properties. It is far enough from the noise of the village but only a few blocks from the Carretera, numerous restaurants, shops, movies, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. It is an easy walk to everything in the village.
This casa is tastefully decorated in neutral tones of café and creams. There is a charming, tiled courtyard as you enter the property that has a soothing fountain, lush tropical plants, and an outdoor dining table and four chairs. The courtyard has a magnificent view of the surrounding huge mountains. This is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or evening cocktail or afternoon card game.
The rooms of the house all have walls of glass overlooking this courtyard and mountain view. As you enter the front door, you are in the very large living room and dining room combination. The living room has a cream tapestry sofa, loveseat, and wingback chair. There are glass and iron end tables and coffee table. There is a large new Sony TV with Shaw Direct satellite network service and DVD player. There are hundreds of channels, movie channels, sports networks, and a selection on music channels. There is an attractive electric log fireplace with mantle and mirror between the living area and dining room. The dining room features a glass-top table on sculptured stone base with six comfortable upholstered dining chairs. There is a large open serving bar between the dining room and kitchen for easy entertaining.
The kitchen is fully equipped with five-burner stove top and gas oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher (not always available in homes in Mexico). There are also minor appliances, dishes, pots and pans, linens, pantry, etc. The skylight provides much light. There is a large utility room off the kitchen with full-sized washer and dryer and utility sink. There is also a spacious one-car attached garage, with a remote electric door opener, off the kitchen for safe, convenient parking. (This is also hard to find in Mexico.)
The master bedroom is very large with a king-size US bed, chest of drawers, end tables, a large walk-in-closet with skylight, and access to the private master bath. The bath is all marble and also has a skylight. Top-of-the-line linens are included for the enjoyment of our guests.It has a mini-split A/C unit should it be needed
The second bedroom features a double bed. There is also a spacious closet, private second large marble bath, and an office off of this room.
There are ceiling fans throughout the home and on the patio for year-round comfort. The home is further enhanced with many original paintings from local and US artists.
The weather here is perfect any time of the year. The owners of this home (Bonnie and John) also live here in Ajijic full time. We are always available to answer questions or give directions. Those of us who have retired here all agree that we now live in PARADISE.
There is no grass yard at the property, only the front courtyard. This eliminates the need for a gardener and minimizes maintenance. Due to the lack of a yard, only the smallest pets will be considered.
We stayed two months to explore the area and liked it so much we plan to return next year. The house is well located for exploring Ajijic. We walked to the heart of the village most days, although the hike back up the hill is a good workout. The landlord was very responsive to our needs.
We rented the home while we were looking to buy a house in Ajijic. The property is in a great location, close to everything. The houe is very clean and tastefully decorated, The street is very quiet and the area is very safe. It is truly a home away from home.
The property is located on a flat, pavestone street centrally located in Ajijic. It is a few blocks up the mountain above the El Torito supermarket and the Wednesday market.

We are looking for long term tenants (1 year+). For a long term rental of $950/month, tenant pays electricity, gas, telephone and maid. Shaw TV is included. Telmex costs $389 pesos/month while other utilities are based on usage. Maid works 1 or 2 days per week depending on your preference at $135 pesos per 3 hour day.
Half of 1st month's rent is due to secure reservation. Remainder payable upon arrival. Rent is due the first of each month. Payment can be by check or Paypal (funds from checking, send money to friend). Onsite payment will be in pesos.
