Located on a private, residential island, this large beachfront family condo has all you will need for a beach home away from home. The downstairs consists of two large bedrooms with queen sized beds, both with en suite bathrooms, living and dining areas, and a fully stocked kitchen. The front porch looks to the west over the marsh, and a screened back porch with additional seating for dining and lounging faces the beach, where you can watch the sunrise as you have your morning coffee. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms with a shared four piece bath. One bedroom is perfect for any children vacationing with your family, with two sets of bunkbeds (as well as a pack and play and high chair in the closet), a DVD player, child sized table and a small selection of toys, DVDs, and books. The second upstairs bedroom, facing the beach, has a queen bed and a daybed. Linens and towels (bath and beach) are provided, and there is a full laundry room. Under the house you will find plenty of covered parking, in addition to a storage room full of beach toys and chairs, a kayak, a large utility wagon, pop-up beach tent and a 10x10 standing tent. There is also an outdoor shower and foot-rinse area with a hose.
Harbor Island is a private, gated, residential island. This condo is located steps from the boardwalk that will take you to a beautiful beach, often so quiet that you will feel like you are on your own private island! You also have access to the Harbor Island Beach and Racquet Club, with a large pool and baby pool, tennis and volleyball courts, and a gift shop/cafe.
You are only a mile or two away from Hunting Island State Park, where you can explore nature trails and climb to the top of a lighthouse for a great view of the coastline. While there are a number of good restaurants and shops nearby, you might enjoy a short drive to Beaufort, SC to walk around the riverfront, enjoy a carriage ride, and sample excellent and varied cuisine (we highly recommend the Chocolate Tree for a sweet treat... you may want to go more than once!).
Four generations of our family have enjoyed vacationing on Harbor Island for nearly three decades. We would love for you to make this a special place and a tradition for your family.
