Enjoy great 180-degree views of Lake Michigan and access to one of the great sandy beaches of the world on Lake Michigan's west coast. Built on three levels, with a basement walk-out, the Dana Lake House offers the comforts of a modern home - TV, hi-speed Internet, heat and air conditioning, plus big porches and decks for both inside and outside living - along with allure of a secluded retreat. The only thing lacking is good cell service (for many of us, that is a blessing!), though we do have a landline in case the weather or your carrier do not cooperate.
Dana Lake House is situated on a low bluff on Michigan's west coast, yet it's only 100 yards from the private association beach, where you can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, or long walks. It's in the Lost Valley Association, which gives you an idea of its seclusion, yet it's only 7 miles from the small resort communities of Montague and Whitehall, clustered around beautiful White Lake. The bigger cities of Muskegon and Grand Rapids, both of which have commercial airports, are within an hour's drive. Other diversions - dining, golf, canoeing, charter fishing, horseback riding, movies, and a big amusement and water park - are just minutes away.
Other charms are subtler but there throughout the year - seclusion, a big, clear night sky, where you can see the Milky Way, wildlife (deer, eagles, wild turkeys and more), and the ever-changing Big Lake. The house has a growing selection of books and games, but feel free to bring your own.
It's the perfect place for an unforgettable getaway!
