About Katie Harms
Our first cabin! Such amazing memories have been made here in the past 18 years. Lovingly restored. More stories than there is time to tell them.
Katie Harms purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Katie Harms chose Cushing
We had a rare opportunity to buy this when we moved to Little Falls. We have since moved back to the cities, but the cabin has remained our constant family spot.
What makes this Cabin unique
The lake is wonderful. The fact that it's 30 feet from the water is amazing.

Little Brown.... the perfect little lake getaway
What an enjoyable cabin and accommodating host! We were looking for something close to our family in Cushing, on a lake, and large enough for 10 people. Fish Trap Lake is a beautiful place. The cabin was small but certainly fit our needs. We had to be patient with only 1 bathroom but fortunately our schedule allowed for that. There is a lily pad water mat, canoe, and the water was shallow enough for children to play. There were roasting sticks, plenty of outdoor seating and space, although neighboring cabins were quite close. Another treat was the games and books available for all ages. We took our hosts’ advice and took our parents out at The Landing for their 50th anniversary. We also enjoyed the military museum on a rainy day which was a hit with the kids age 10-19.
Thanks for the kind words! Your family was awesome. We are fortunate enough to own the cabin to the west so it allows for a bit more room to spread out! Glad you enjoyed it, made memories with family and arrived home safely!
Great family vacation.
Our family really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen, and plenty of towels for both bathing and swimming. The weather was hot during our stay and it was hard for the window ac units to keep up but the cabin never really did get to unbearably hot. The front deck was nice and had plenty of seating. I loved that we could sit on the deck and still be close enough to see & hear our kids swim at the end of the dock. Wifi & cable were a bonus as well as the use of a water mat. The guest cabin is cute and is literally right outside the front door. Our girls had fun sleeping out there a few nights. The bay was extremely quiet and most days we were the only ones outside. The only negative for us was the slight musty smell of both the main cabin & the bunk house. This wasn't too big of a deal and it actually dissipated quite fast once the windows were opened. Also a washer & dryer would be amazing but it's just a quick trip down the road to the laundry mat. Aside from these two minor things, everything else was great!
