About Jennifer Pogatchnik
My Mother Ann owns Creek Swan. She is a retired nurse and Eastern North Carolina native. Having grown up on the Crystal Coast, she is passionate about sharing the history and beauty of the Eastern North Carolina seashore with others. She lives close by and is available to answer any questions you have about the area. She recently converted the cottage to a weekly rental. Her number is 252-241-0166. My family lives in Minnesota and I handle the technical side of renting the cottage such as maintaining the website, the rental contracts and inquiries. We visit the coast every summer and it is our favorite time of the year when we get to return to NC for fresh seafood and sandy beaches. I can be reached at 651-491-5684. Please don't hesitate to call with any questions!
Jennifer Pogatchnik purchased this House in 2004
Why Jennifer Pogatchnik chose Gloucester
This is the first summer we have rented the cottage for weekly rentals. We are excited to share the serenity of our home with others. The cottage recently underwent an interior face lift and has brand new beds, mattresses, box springs, interior paint and mostly new furnishings through-out. The cottage is very clean and perfect for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of a busy lifestyle.
What makes this House unique
We believe the benefits to renting our cottage is that you receive the entire cottage which is extremely clean and new for less then the cost of a hotel. We also love the peace and beauty of Sleepy Creek. A swimming beach is only 2.2 miles away in Harker's Island and you can fish right off our private 250 foot dock. Our renters over July 4th caught lots of big crabs, croaker and a baby drum off the pier which they cooked on the new gas grill for dinner.

We had a relaxing time on sleepy creek. We caught no fish but that’s ok we took the ferry to cape lookout and had a wonderful time. Planning on going again but camping on the island next time!! We did a lot of road biking which included a 60 mile round trip to cedar island one beautiful morning. Fun time all in all
Wonderful, Quiet and Relaxing
Our family truly enjoyed ourselves. We were able to fish from the dock, fly my son's kite in the back yard and relax on the screened in porch. Will definitely try to stay here again.
Peaceful beautiful retreat
Beautifully appointed and decorated. A well equipped kitchen. Lovely screened porch. Beautiful sunrises from the dock. Overall a peaceful and quiet getaway. I'd love to come back!
Love this location...Come fish...Go play at the beach...Visit the local towns
We are a family of 6 with 4 children age 4-9 years old. This was one of our most fun vacations and it was not because we are not dealing with diapers. The house was great. It worked out perfect for our kids. Sleeping was easy...location was perfect... and plenty to do. We fished off the dock. Cast net to catch minnows...Caught shrimp to eat...crabbed and ate them EVERY night..Caught several rays...Red drum...and hooked a 3+ foot shark off the dock...spent lots of time on the dock...our kids were sold when they saw the dock...saw some dolphins swimming in the sound one day. Played wiffleball in the backyard. House with garage to hold all the gear needed. Screened in porch was fun to sit on at night and when raining. The house is located a bit out from Beaufort...About 25 minutes....15 minutes to the end of Harkers Island for the ferry. We were a bit concerned that we could not get to enough "things to do" but were COMPLETELY satisfied and kept busy. We used the Ferry 3 days. One day to Cape Lookout to go all the way to the point on the truck ride...Got loads of great shells and lots of Sand dollars. Two days we went to Shackleford Banks. This is like being on an island by yourself and wild horses. Each day you take your lunch and all supplies. Kids loved it. Lots of sandbars and walking around. We saw more water "animals" in a week than I have seen in my life. One day got a ferry from Beaufort to go to Sand Dollar Island. Fun...Although we found more sand dollars at the cape. Still a great experience jumping off sand bars into pools of water. All of this a Ferry ride from the house. Went to Atlantic Beach and Fort Macon...some mini golf...sent the ladies out for a night out and the boys for some time fishing on the pier in Beaufort. Plenty to do. The hospitality of the owner made it very easy to get in and out. We will be back again. Great place to make memories with family off of the beaten trail and not touristy by any means. Can't say enough great things about this location...Almost don't want to give it a good review so that you don't find out about it because I want it open when I go back. Come have fun and make great memories. LOVE THIS PLACE.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share about your family vacation at Creek Swan. Sounds like you all were pretty busy taking in the salt air and sea. Please come back and see us again soon!

Great private property!
We had a great time at this house. Very well remodeled and the back porch is the perfect place to relax. Caught fish and crabs off the dock and had a crab feast one evening. Great golf courses near and just a short drive to Morehead City and Atlantic Beach. Also would recommend taking the ferry to Cape Lookout. Had a blast and we will be back again to this hidden gem!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We welcome you back again soon.
