About Jennifer Pogatchnik

My Mother Ann owns Creek Swan. She is a retired nurse and Eastern North Carolina native. Having grown up on the Crystal Coast, she is passionate about sharing the history and beauty of the Eastern North Carolina seashore with others. She lives close by and is available to answer any questions you have about the area. She recently converted the cottage to a weekly rental. Her number is 252-241-0166.

My family lives in Minnesota and I handle the technical side of renting the cottage such as maintaining the website, the rental contracts and inquiries. We visit the coast every summer and it is our favorite time of the year when we get to return to NC for fresh seafood and sandy beaches. I can be reached at 651-491-5684. Please don't hesitate to call with any questions!

Why Jennifer Pogatchnik chose Gloucester

This is the first summer we have rented the cottage for weekly rentals. We are excited to share the serenity of our home with others. The cottage recently underwent an interior face lift and has brand new beds, mattresses, box springs, interior paint and mostly new furnishings through-out. The cottage is very clean and perfect for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of a busy lifestyle.

What makes this house unique

We believe the benefits to renting our cottage is that you receive the entire cottage which is extremely clean and new for less then the cost of a hotel. We also love the peace and beauty of Sleepy Creek. A swimming beach is only 2.2 miles away in Harker's Island and you can fish right off our private 250 foot dock. Our renters over July 4th caught lots of big crabs, croaker and a baby drum off the pier which they cooked on the new gas grill for dinner.

Great Family Vacation House!

  • 5 of 5

We literally couldn't ask for a better place to spend time as a family. The kids loved the fact that we had free wifi, I loved that it was on the water, and my wife loved the screened in back porch. The house was very clean when we arrived and the owner left cinnamon rolls for us and a sweet card. There is an enclosed 2 car garage downstairs, which was very nice in the rain. Everything in the house was spotless and the renovations are very up to date.

It is just a few minutes away from Harker's Island, which is a very nice community, and the larger cities of Beaufort and Morehead. We were on the ocean in just a few minutes either at Cape Lookout or Fort Macon State Park. We never worried about traffic or crowds which is usually the problem at the larger beaches.

The house is in a beautiful location. The yard is HUGE so you can do just about anything you want to outside. My son and I enjoyed fishing every evening after supper, my wife would sit on the back porch and read her book. In the evenings you can hear the sounds that the neighbor's peacocks make which oddly enough adds to the relaxed feeling we all had. They were quite a distance away so they are quiet enough you aren't startled by them. Sometimes in the afternoons we would see them around the yard!

The house itself comes with a supply of linen for every bedroom and plenty of towels and washcloths for everyone. There is enough utensils and pots and pans to cook every meal without having to purchase anything. They have a working gas grill on the porch as well. There also have two refrigerators. One is located upstairs and the other is in the garage.

Overall I would highly recommend this house. My wife and I seldom stay in the same place twice, but this is now on our list to stay at again!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the dock. Great location. Bedding and liens were very comfortable. We enjoyed the screened in porch and the comfortable

outdoor seating. We took our kayaks out daily to the end of the creek and enjoyed watching the dolphins play in the sound. Pizza delivery was easy from Crossroads pizza for a easy dinner on the screened in porch which has ceiling fans and great lightening to enjoy the night. Gas grill was readily available as well. Easy check in and check out process. You will definitely enjoy this home and area.

Comfortable, great location, perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I am at a loss for words, which so rarely happens! :-) We had the most amazing long weekend at Creek Swan! Our group included two adults, a 13-yr-old, a 9-yr-old, and a 4-yr-old.

The house is perfectly well equipped, and much more beautiful in person than the photos make it look. We must be terrible fisherman, because we caught nothing off the dock! But we enjoyed sitting on the bench and taking in the peace and quiet very much. We were surprised to be greeted several times by a pair of peacocks in the yard! The screened-in porch was perfect for watching a dusk thunderstorm roll in.

We used the boat ramp nearby to take our boat out each day. We swam very near dolphins, and saw wild horses on a few of the islands. The Lookout Grocery store just up the road had everything we needed - the fresh baked goods are amazing!

We really hope to return later this summer! Thank you to Ann and Jenn for their thoughtfulness and easy communication!
