Hi! I am a writer/editor and my partner is a therapist. We love living in this part of London with our young son and we love hosting people from all over the world.
Why Claire chose Haverstock
We fell in love with the unusual Victorian architecture of the terrace in which our apartment is situated. Inside we loved the high ceilings and the sense of space and light. We loved the quiet greenery in the back garden. We love the area: as parents (there's lots going on for children), as London-lovers (we're close to everything), as art/culture/music-lovers (we can get to concerts, galleries, theatres so easily), and as professionals (getting to work is quick and easy, and this is a buzzing area full of professional families). It's great for transport. We go quickly to the centre of London (and do so several times a week). And there are so many things do in the local area both for adults and children. We love to walk on Hampstead Heath - a massive green space in central London. Our son loves the Parliament Hill adventure playground. We love to browse in the shops and boutiques in Primrose Hill. And our local art gallery (Zabludowicz Collection) is always interesting (some eccentric modern art!) with a nice cafe and bookshop too.
What makes this Apartment unique
High-ceilinged rooms. Built in Victorian times and extended into the garden in the 20th century. A Scandinavian sense of simple natural warmth and light. Central location and great transport to tourist sights. Lots of homely touches. A quiet, leafy back garden - a rarity in London. An unusually wide but quiet and safe street. Attentive on-site hosts. Stand in the street and look up the road to see historic Alms Houses: heritage listed buildings renovated and reopened by Prince Charles. Turn left out of the house and walk a few yards down the road. The bright red door marks the one-time home of Karl Marx. Walk up the street and turn right at the pub to see a large church opposite. This is St. Dominic's Church, the modest home of a world-reknown organ. (Organists travel from all over the world to give free concerts here). Walk a few yards down Malden Road to Queens Crescent market, or turn right into the residential part of Queen's Cresent and continue along it to Prince of Wales Road where if you turn left you'll see a large building with columns outside. Inside you'll find free modern art (sometimes quite strange) and a nice cafe. Walk a few hundred yards further down towards Chalk Farm to find the Roundhouse theatre and world famous Camden market.

Your VRBO is beautiful and so comfortable and convenient! I will be recommending this place to anyone I know who is looking for a VBRO in London!
The apartment was very nice and tidy. Claire was a fantastic host who thought of every little thing - including detailed maps of the area, books, subway maps, umbrellas, etc. She arranged for us to arrive early. She stocked the kitchen with food for breakfast and snacks which was a welcome thing to find when we rolled in from an international flight. I needed directions and after emailing Claire she got back to me immediately. She and the apartment were great. We did not love the immediate neighborhood, though after some exploring found Hampstead and the Heath, which we loved. Probably not the easiest location for people not at all familiar with London. (Which describes us) Otherwise a very nice stay.
Hostess with the Mostest!
Adorable, spacious, comfortable flat easy walking distance to Tube or bus. Lots of great amenities. Super welcome basket. Claire was awesome! She was so responsive and extremely helpful with ways of getting around and all sorts of information. And her emails were funny! We really enjoyed communicating with her. Bedrooms were super comfy and clean. Just an overall wonderful place to stay if you’re visiting London. Thanks, Claire! Carolyn and Karen
The Best Place.
This place is so perfect and amazing, I can't say enough nice things about it. My friends and I had such a great time here. It was so lovely coming back here at the end of the day, and we didn't want to leave when our trip was over. We loved the neighborhood and location and really just everything - highly recommend.
A very nice place Our host thought of everything to make us feel at home.
Claire was prompted to answer and made sure we had everything practical that we could need. Thanks for the great stay.
Thanks Ramona! You are welcome back any time!
Great location for our plans.
Apartment was clean and tidy. Good location to reach bus line and/or subway. Comfortable beds and fabulous terrace space. Would stay there again.
See main description in listing. We are in a residential area. but minutes from world-famous Camden Market, moments by underground (Chalk Farm Station is closest) from the centre of London with all its tourist attractions, and only moments' walk from the green spaces of Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill. Shops, restaurants and cafes abound in our area. The local gallery (the Zabludowicz Collection) is free to enter (Thursday to Sunday) and has a great cafe too. There's a great adventure play park and paddling pool for children only a short walk away on Hampstead Heath. We're a good location for anyone wanting to see the sights of London, to work or visit the Royal Free Hospital, or to do a language course or work in London.
