The Dune House, Greatstone on Sea, New Romney, Kent, England
We were aged less than 3 to over 81 years old and there was something for all of us to do. The beach is a 2 minute walk across a sand dune with no road to cross. We took Ready Meals for each evening meal and lunched outside in the garden and in pubs. A recommended visit is to Lyminge (?) Wildlife Park, near Hythe and a ride on the RH&DR train which travels from Hythe to Dungeness and many places in between. The Pilot pub/restaurant is much recommended for excellety fresh fish and friendly service. Also good fresh fish and friendly people are found everywhere. The house is very comfortable and deserves the 5-star rating given by the English Tourist Board
great property inside could do with some TLC on the outside
we had a wonderful week, weather wasn't the warmest and the sea never seemed to be at high tide but the beach was great and the customer service from Chris was second to none
Glad you had a great time ! Unfortunately the front of the house does not look as good as it should due to an issue with the paint/ painting that was done 2 years ago. The house was painted with paint that was guaranteed not to need repainting for 10 years. Given how it looks after 2 we are having "discussions" with the contractors and reviewing all options to get it looking great again before the winter. Unfortunately we cant get this done in the summer as guests would not like scaffolding up and painters about ! Sorry about that but glad you enjoyed your stay and please come back any time ! Chris
Highly recommend Dune House. It was spotless and very well furnished
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Probably the best holiday house we have stayed in. The house has an excellent position on the beach. We had many walks on the beach at different times of the day. We all enjoyed sitting on the seating area in the dunes. We were 6 adults and a baby but there was plenty of room in the house for us to do different things.
The Romney Marsh is a lovely area with so much to see and do.
Beautiful home from home by the sea
We had a wonderful week at Dune House. The house itself is lovely and sleeps 7 with 3 really good bath/Shower rooms. It also has a beautiful garden which opens on to the dunes and the sandy beach beyond. The house is well equipped with lovely white linens and high quality towels & crockery. There is even a study for those who have to do a little work whist away.
We were blessed with lovely weather too, so spent lots of lazy hours on the deck - the garden furniture is lovely too!
All in all a lovely week with our family and friends who were also staying in the area. We hope to be back soon.
Perfect location in the Sun
We spent a wonderful week in England!!! Great place to stay, because we had fantastic weather we barely ventured out, the kids enjoyed the perfect beach and the sea was warm. The kitchen lounge area was awesome, it was well equipped, we made cakes.
Thanks for your kind words. In view of the number of guests who to do some baking whilst away to make it easier we have now added a good food mixer and other baking equipment to the kitchen !!!
A very comfortable house excellently located by the sea!
We are pleased to report that we had a very good time in your comfortable, well fitted house.
We had 3 family guests from Canada, an elderly relative from Canterbury and we were visited for one day by 2 guests from France. The very good kitchen/dining room/ sitting area accommodated everyone, 8 in total, very well and the sun and light coming in from the enormous windows made it a real pleasure to relax there in the comfortable sofas. The bedrooms were also comfortable and everything worked well.
Unfortunately it was not possible to sit out on the delightful patio much because of the chilly wind but the path up through the dunes to the sea was well used by the more energetic members of the party. Our visit was a great success and we would recommend the house to others. Customer service by the owner was spot on , before and after our stay. Many thanks. David and Judy
