I have travelled extensively both for work and for pleasure and fell in love with Güejar Sierra the moment I saw it. I first had an apartment in Puerto Banus some 15 years ago and subsequently I have owned and refurbished many properties over the last 10 years in the Granada area. Having lived in Granada (and worked in Madrid and Barcelona) for many years I have the 'on the spot' local knowledge that can point you in the right direction to make the most of your time here. I also know numerous other parts of Spain that you may wish to visit during your time here. I bought this apartment as a perfect getaway location in the sun and it has proved to be a true gem. I consider Guejar Sierra my second home and love visiting as much as possible to enjoy the stunning scenery and delicious local food. I now live and work in London and enjoy renting my apartment to people who I know will love the village and area as much as I do.

This luxury apartment is ideally located in the beautiful mountain village of Güejar Sierra - just outside the world famous Moorish city of Granada. Recently decorated and updated. As I have travelled extensively I have furnished the apartment with unique items of furniture and decorations not only from Granada and other parts of Spain but also from different countries. All of which gives an wonderful welcoming environment to base yourself in Andalusia. Güejar Sierra is a small mountain town or large village, preserving the traditional mountain architecture of the region at its heart. It is skirted by the crystal clear waters of the River Genil and perched in a dramatic position on the slopes of the Cerro del Calar - with panoramic views of the rugged Sierra Nevada mountains just at the point where they dip their toes into the beautiful Canales reservoir. The surroundings offer the visitor great natural beauty, chestnut forests, old quarries of serpentine and green jasper and the historic remains of the old funicular (built by an eccentric Italian Duke) which used to wind its way up the Sierra Nevada. Two of the attractive old stone tram stops in Maitena and El Charcon have been converted to lovely restaurants on the banks of the Genil, where the fresh, clean waters are delicious for a swim in the summer. Güejar Sierra is also a great centre for year-round adventure activities. It’s an ideal base for mountain biking, walks of all levels, ice/rock climbing, canoeing, rafting, paragliding, horse-riding etc. And, at only 20 mins from historic Granada and the Alhambra Palace. It is as lovely place to be whether the season; in the winter surrounded by snow capped mountains, in the spring with the cherry blossom in bloom, in the summer the endless blue skies and in the autumn, the colours of the trees.
