Awesome cabin with view
It was everything you would expect from a Colorado cabin. I would definitely recommend a 4wd vehicle for the driveway. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed for a week. We really enjoyed our time there and would stay again.
Very pretty scenery, quaint & clean cabin
Very beautiful property a little ways out of town. Cara the owner was very attentative to all of our questions prior to arriving. We found the place to be very quaint & clean. The only reason for a 4 star is due to the poor quality of the water that has a very high mineral/metal smell that stays on your hair, skin and clothes. Cara does provide bottled drinking water. We would stay here again.
Very nice place to stay
We really enjoyed the place. They were very accommodating. It is an ideal cabin for 2 couples, we had 4 couples staying and it was a little crowded. It is built on the side of a hill without parking for trailers up there, but we parked at the bottom of the hill and it worked out very well. Loved to be able to ride in and out with our side by sides. Loved it, would stay there again, but with less people.
Most perfect place in Silverton!
This was our first time in the Silverton area and I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay. We rode the ohv trails right from the house and even did a hike right out the front door. Pictures don't even do justice to the surroundings or even the cabin. We felt very much at home and had everything we needed. I thank Cara so much for sharing her home. We will definitely stay there again if it is available!
What a place! We couldn't find the cabin at first and we had no signal driving through that road so we had to go back into Silverton to call Cara, and she didn't answer us, her phone went straight to voicemail. We tried again and ended up finding it. Its exactly 3 miles as it says. The driveway up to the cabin is STEEP and rocky. Once we got in the cabin there were notes left for us with another number to reach someone in town if we needed to. It would've been nice if we knew her information beforehand since we were lost! The cabin was clean and beds were comfy. You cannot drink the water there, but there is water provided to drink. The bath/shower water smells pretty "rocky" but it is mountain water! There was no coffee but there was a coffee maker, so we went into town and bought our own. There are no outside lights around the deck or walkways, so at night its tough seeing where you are going if you want to sit outside under the stars. There is no AC, but the weather was nice enough for us to open the windows and let the breeze in. It was pretty cold at night, but the stove was a nice touch. There are heaters at the baseboards of the cabin walls, but they do not work. There is a washer and dryer inside. The washer is VERY loud and noisy. I would recommend washing clothes when you are not in the cabin trying to enjoy the quiet. My only recommendations after this visit would be to have maybe some coffee stocked, lights outside so we can at least walk around being able to see at night, and to make sure the phone numbers are provided ahead of time.
Tough driveway other wise great cabin and area
