Owner's Response: Thank you Dontan, Glad you had a great time. We just had a couple feet of rain in the last month, the river rose 14 feet higher than normal about 2 weeks ago. That is why the mosquitoes were abundant during your stay. In a week or two the normal summer weather will dry that out and cut down on the mosquitos quite a bit. As this is the first time we have heard of a complaint for mosquitos. We had a late flood this year. Normally it hits earlier in the spring.

Lovely riverfront rental

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is several miles north of Luray along a road that turns to dirt a mile or two shy of the property. A deep lawn leads from the back patio to the Shenandoah. A hot tub on said patio and fenced side porch make fine roosts for watching nature flow by. We recommend bringing as much food & drink as you can; Luray is lovely, but it's a good drive each way. Also, the sulfury well water will not be to everyone's liking; we picked up a gallon of Berkeley Springs water for a dollar at the Walmart in town.

Excellent river cabin overlooking the Shenandoah River!

  • 5 of 5

Spent 2 nights, and regret not booking thru the Easter weekend! While we were three guests, the cabin has ample room to sleep 6. The rooms were clean with a rustic decor. Kitchen had all the necessities, I recommend stopping by the Walmart to stock up on food for the grill...don’t forget the charcoal! The living room had plenty of space to lounge and watch TV on a new big flat screen LCD. We spent time in the screened patio and had a blast playing ping pong. Most of our stay we spent outdoors, and that’s where this cabin differentiates itself. Wow what amazing views of the Shenandoah river!! The cabin is situated right on a river bend, where you can hear the river rippling through, very peaceful. I recommend checking out the sunsets and sunrises! Added plus was the ample space on the lot to toss a football or hang by a large rock fire pit, perfect for marshmallow roasting! There were 6 log stumps around the fire pit that functioned as stools! We enjoyed the available canoe and fished right from the properties shoreline! Kids will enjoy the new hot tub that is situated on the back deck that has plenty of seating for meals or just relaxing while overlooking the river. If folks want to venture out there’s shopping and the Caverns in Luray. We stopped by Cooters Garage, a must visit for any Dukes of Hazard fans!! I recommend Eagles Landing for a getaway, we will definitely be return guests!!

Comfortable River Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Very nice cabin with unique remodeling features. We enjoyed our time down by the river. The master bed was comfortable, but the other bed was a bit hard. People should know that the water through out the house has a very strong sulfur odor. It is really strong when you run a faucet or shower. We bought bottled water to drink. It comes with a remote territory. Overall we had a very nice stay.
