About the property

Decorated during the holidays! 4 Bedroom Home Inside Downtown, Munising

Spend your next vacation in this spacious Late Victorian style home built in the 1920's by William G Mather, and the pioneers of Cleveland Cliffs Inc., North America's largest supplier of iron ore pellets. He became president of the newly formed Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co. and acquired 330,000 acres of timberland on the Upper Peninsula. William G Mather Middle School and its history is still located across the street from this home today.

Now owned by descendants of, Katherine Beich, of the Beich Candy line of candy bars available to schools and youth groups to sell as fundraisers. This home is the perfect base for activities surrounding the Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore area.

Walk a block or two to local restaurants and bars, gift shops, Bayshore Park where the Pictured Rocks Cruises are located. There are even two different playgrounds, a tennis court, fitness center, post office, and bank located a block or less away. This home is all about becoming a genuine Yooper, providing accessibility to the wonderful experiences available in Munising during all four seasons!

Celebrate Independence Day in style and catch candy while watching the parade drive by right from the front porch!

Clean, quiet and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This is my first time renting a house instead of booking hotels. We have 5 adults and 3 kiddos. It's amazing! Living room is big and decorated with beautiful antiques . Beding is neat . Exquisite tableware in the kitchen....

We all love this house and definitely recommend to friends.

Spacious & comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Beds were very comfortable. Lots of room for a large family. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. After long days of exploring the area, it was nice to come back to a home and relax from a fun filled day.

An absolutely beautiful home with so much history and character.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this house!!! It had such an amazing feel and history to it. The place was beautiful with beautiful furnishing. The beds were very comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. Would have been good if there was another full bathroom for the size of the place.

A most enjoyable stay in a spacious, charming home

  • 5 of 5

We were pleased with the comfort and size of this wonderful home with nicely equipped kitchen, large living and dining room as well as covered front porch with swing.

The single bathroom for the 4 bedrooms was easy to share with a very good shower, thoughtful supplies and ample, fluffy towels.

The bedrooms were all comfortable although we all would have liked a small table and chair (for many uses ) in each as well as a layer of darker curtains for the windows.

The power station bedside table was very thoughtful.

Several bulbs were burned out.

Small amenities would be appreciated for the kitchen:

a drainboard, a salad spinner, A regular or electric kettle, an indication where to find the garbage disposal button (if there was one ?) and better lighting, particularly over the stove for cooking after dark, which we did every night.

Thank you !

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

The house is located a few blocks from town. Extremely easy to get around. We fell in love with the area. It's beautiful and there's a ton of outdoor activities to enjoy. We highly recommend renting a pontoon boat and seeing the painted rocks from the water-gorgeous! We rented from Seabergs- they were great!

The house is large and comfortable. The beds are comfy with really nice sheets-info for any sheets snobs out there. 😉?The kitchen is large and adequately equipped. You get to enjoy church Bells throughout the day while sitting on your front porch. Highly recommend staying here!
