Nestled in the Adirondacks on 14 privately owned wooded acres that border Primitive Environment NYS Park our cozy cottage rests. All this acreage provides ample grounds to explore without having to battle traffic, parking, or crowds or to just relax in solitude. Nearby, there are year-round outdoor activities: hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, swimming, boating, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, all within 15 minutes of our cabin or leave by foot right from the cabin to set out on a private hiking adventure. The Ausable River is a stone's throw away and innumerable lakes where you can find swimming areas, tubing or kayaking and canoeing are also close. There are many fine restaurants within 15 minutes, as well as Lake Placid. We built the cottage with lots of love, taking care on details. We have 1 bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. Our cottage is an open floor plan allowing for beautiful views from every area. During inclement weather, you can enjoy those views from the comfort of our great room, in front of a real crackling fire, temperatures permitting. During the nicer weather, sit on the deck or around the firepit and relax. We face the west and often have our own private cocktail hour at sunset. We provide linens, bath towels (bring your own beach towels) starter wood and Keurig supply, soap, shampoo and dish liquid. We do not have WIFI and cell service is sketchy, so consider yourself unplugged when you arrive and leave the computer home. It makes for a true vacation. While texts are easily sent and received and short calls can be made, we suggest going unplugged. There is plenty of service for calls from The Keene Library or Stewarts just up the road. We have a collection of DVDs and videos (yes, we still have a VCR!) and a CD player. There's a fully equipped kitchen for anyone interested in dining at home. Our goal is to share the beauty and peacefulness we are fortunate to have found with people who love and respect the area as much as we do. The pictures only give a hint of our cottage's rustic comfort. They cannot capture it's harmonious tranquility. We're confident once you've stayed here, you'll be back.

EPIC Views, Beautiful Cabin, Perfect Location, and Amazing Hosts!!
Where do I even start?! Brace yourself because this is going to be long lol.
My boyfriend and I spent an incredible week here and I cannot say enough good things about it! First off, the location was ideal for both hiking the high peaks and exploring Lake Placid, Lake Champlain, and Ausable Chasm! We were within 20-40 mins of everything we wanted to do or things we might have needed to run out for. Plus, the actual cabin itself is on a beautiful lot above a main road (which you dont even hear any cars from thanks to a nearby creek), and looks out on a gorgeous mountain range - no other homes in sight, just green and mountains everywhere you look! We literally could not get enough of the view.
The cabin itself is so charming, you can tell a lot of love went into every little detail which made us feel so honored to be there. The owners are not kidding when they say there is no cell phone service there though, so be prepared to totally unplug! The place is stocked with classic games though and a nice selection of movies (and even music!), so we didnt mind one bit. The only other note I would make is to be warned that the hot water in the shower doesn't last forever! We made the mistake of using it up doing dishes and then ran out within 5 minutes of the shower lol, so do your dishes AFTER your shower-time! ;) We also barely ate out during our week there - instead making the majority of our meals at the house in the very well stocked kitchen. I have to note too that before arriving i asked if they happened to have a blender or slow cooker there already (just to plan what food we would bring), and without my asking they went out and got both things brand new and had them there ready to go for us! SO so generous and thoughtful! They also left us adorable notes with advice on local eats, what to pack, and awesome places to check out.
Overall just an incredible experience - I honestly could say a million more amazing things about this place, but then i would ruin the wonderful details for the next people to discover! And as for us we will definitely be back!!! :)
Yasmin & Arne - Thank you so much again!!!
Thank you for sharing your piece of the Adirondacks with us!!
Thank you so much for sharing your piece of the Adirondacks with us!! We absolutely loved the cabin, the layout, and the decor within. The view of Sentinel Mountain is absolutely stunning, and because of the cabin being fairly isolated, you feel like you have the view all to yourself! Also, the location is perfect for those interested in visiting Lake Placid or hiking the high peaks. Since we ended up doing both, we found the location to be extremely convenient. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back again in the future.
