Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Smoky View Chalet is a charming cabin nestled in the woods, but it’s also conveniently close to all the local attractions. And with 2 bedrooms, one of which includes a heart-shaped jetted tub, it’s well suited for both a romantic getaway and a vacation for a family of 6.

As is typical of roundette cabins, Smoky View Chalet’s main living area is an airy, open space, with plenty of windows to let in the sunshine and mountain breezes. Whether you’re curled up on the couch to watch TV or surfing the web in the rocking chair, you’re never far from the wood-burning fireplace, the dining table that seats 6, or the kitchen. The kitchen, by the way, is fully equipped with everything from a full-size refrigerator/freezer and oven/stove to a coffeemaker and a toaster, along with cookware and tableware. There’s even a dishwasher, because no one wants to waste precious vacation time scrubbing dishes.

There’s also a charcoal grill on the upper deck, as well as a large picnic table, so that you can take full advantage of the lush woodland view, the fresh mountain air, and the singing of warblers during the day and whip-poor-wills at night. The lower deck includes a classic porch swing for 2. The kids will have fun swinging on it during the day; you and your sweetheart will enjoy doing so at night, in the silvery glow of the moonlight.

The spacious game room makes up the entire downstairs of Smoky View Chalet. The kids can play foosball while the grownups shoot pool—or vice versa—and everyone can sprawl out on one of the roomy sofas to watch a movie on the large flat-panel TV with cable and a DVD player.

The 2 bedrooms are back upstairs on the main floor. Each includes a king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, and plenty of storage. The master bedroom, however, also boasts a large heart-shape jetted tub. Enjoy a solo soak after a day of hiking or skiing to sooth your tired muscles, or luxuriate among the bubbles with your special someone (after a nightcap on the deck swing, perhaps?) for a romantic end to the day.

The master bedroom has an en-suite powder room as well. Smoky View Chalet’s washer and dryer are in this half-bath; here’s your opportunity to return home from vacation with your laundry already done! The full bathroom, in the hall, includes a combination shower/tub. Of course, we’ll provide all the clean towels you could possibly need; leave your linens home where they belong.

When you stay at Smoky View Chalet in summer, you’ll have free access to the nearby outdoor pool. And any time of year, the cabin’s location provides convenient access to an abundance of other things to do. For instance, just down the road is the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 studios, galleries, and shops featuring everything from woodcarvings to watercolors, chainsaw art to jewelry. Less than 15 minutes away are the wildlife, wildflowers, and waterfalls of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Downtown Gatlinburg is just as close; here’s where you’ll find the Guinness World Records Adventure, arcades, thrill rides, an aquarium, mini golf, distilleries, and more. From downtown you can ride the tram up to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, home to ice-skating and a wildlife exhibit year-round as well as skiing and snowboarding in winter.

However you spend your days, you’ll love returning to the quiet charm and relaxing amenities of Smoky View Chalet. Book your stay today, and start planning your fun-filled getaway.

Smokey Mountain Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

Thanks for a great facility for our 3 generation family vacation. Members traveled from South Carolina, Cincinnati & Dayton Ohio to enjoy the tourist attractions of the Gatlinburg area. The cabin and the pool table were a big hit!

Owner's Response: Thank you Cheryl for staying with us. We sincerely apologies for issues with the hot water. We do have a 24/7 on call service department and, if we would have know about the hot water, we would have sent someone out to fix it. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to exceed all expectations.

Husband and I spent the weekend here as a 13 1/2 yr later honeymoon and it was really nice and we plan on coming back to this specific cabin with the kids. Love the seclusion but also close to Gatlinburg.

Needs updating and cleaning

  • 3 of 5

The bones of this cabin are good but it was clear that it needs updating. The carpets were terrible and the entire cabin smelled. The downstairs area was great as it had a pool table, games but the floors had not been cleaned and were dirty. The outside of the cabin did have chairs and a picnic table but all of them were beat up and dirty. Greater cleanliness as well as new bedding, flooring and outside seating are needed.

very disapointing

  • 1 of 5

the home that we stayed in was in rough shape...it was suppose to have two king size beds it only had one king size bed. the other was a full size...the cabin overall needs alot of tlc... the deck in some spots you can almost put your foot thru..the lamp in the room with the full size bed you had to hold the bulb in place to turn it on... when we went to use the oven the handle fell off.. and we were asked when we rented how many people would be staying we said four.. however when time for dinner there were only 3 forks... spider webs covered the front door...house overall needs alot of work.. first time ever that we have felt so burned in renting a home for vacation.. will not recommend or ever use your site again...
