About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 6 Baths, Sleeps 10 (10 adults)

Treat your friends and family to an incredible vacation at this stunning, secluded mountain retreat on 150 acres. In addition to upscale fixtures and luxury amenities including a private hot tub, an outdoor fire, and a built-in stereo system, you'll enjoy home comforts such as a private washer/dryer and complimentary wireless internet — not to mention the gorgeous views!

Located on Hastings Mesa, this home is perfect for groups seeking a relaxed, nature-filled getaway. You'll see plenty of wildlife pass through the property, including birds of prey and herds of elk and deer. Telluride is a little more than 21 miles away, and Ridgway is just under 18 miles away (please note that roads can be icy in the winter).

The interior of this mountain lodge might be best described as "cabin-chic," with furnishings and decor that look rustic but are decidedly high-end. Upon entering the home, the first thing you'll notice is the incredible wall of south-facing windows, which command beautiful views of the mountains and valley.

Beneath the vaulted ceilings of the living room, you'll find large leather couches and a cozy stone fireplace. Adjacent to the living room, a dining room table seats six.

Head outside to the expansive wooden deck, which houses the private hot tub as well as an outdoor dining area. There's no better place to savor a post-dinner glass of wine while the sun sets on this lovely landscape. If you'd like a different vantage point, there are several benches placed throughout the property with amazing views.

In addition, there is a small cabin about a half-mile from the house that includes two sets of wooden cots for sleeping bags, a wood stove, a composting toilet, and a deck with amazing views. It'll make the perfect clubhouse!

Step back inside and head past the dining area to find the gourmet kitchen. With updated stainless-steel appliances (including dual ovens), ample counter space, and a gas range, you'll have no trouble putting together a delicious home-cooked meal. There's even a dishwasher, so cleanup is quick and painless.

Just off the kitchen, a breakfast nook features floor-to-ceiling windows and seating for eight. There are also three bar stools at the kitchen island.

Upstairs, you'll find a comfortable family room with a flatscreen TV. Put your feet up and relax while you browse the cable channels, or unplug for a few hours and catch up on your reading. There's also a second family room on the lowest level of the home, which features another flatscreen TV, a second fireplace, and a Ping-Pong table.

With five bedrooms and six full bathrooms, this home can comfortably sleep 10 guests. The master bedroom is on the main floor. It features a king-size bed, a sliding glass door with access to the patio, and an en suite bathroom with a spacious garden tub. All the other rooms have queen beds, and there is also a crib for the smallest travelers.

On nice evenings, head down to the outdoor firepit for s'mores, campfire songs, and stargazing - this far from civilization, there's no light pollution to spoil the view! Afterward, spend a few hours relaxing in the hot tub before turning in for the night.

If you're visiting during the winter, be sure to spend a few days skiing or snowboarding at Telluride Ski Resort. (If you want to save yourself part of the drive, you can park your car in Placerville and ride the Galloping Goose bus to Telluride for a small fee.) Nordic skiing, snowbiking, and snowshoeing are also available. If you need a day off, both Telluride and the Mountain Village offer plenty of intriguing shops and restaurants (not to mention spas!) to occupy you. Back home, find the perfect sledding hill!

Visiting during the summer? With 150 acres on the property, you can spend a whole day wandering around right at home! Pack hiking boots and a swimsuit, and don't forget the sunscreen! There are numerous trailheads to choose from, as well as opportunities for stand-up paddleboarding on the Ridgway Reservoir. Mountain biking, horseback riding, and just exploring the nearby towns are all great ways to pass your time in Southwest Colorado.

Start planning your well-deserved mountain getaway - make your reservation now!

The house needed more cleaning. The master bathroom was not clean urinal dirty mirrors not wiped and dead mouse in bathtub. Dishes were dirty all had to be washed before we could use. Lots of mouse droppings in drawers where pots pans were. Glass door on back of house dirty. We loved the house and location and will come back !

Breathtaking scenery!

  • 5 of 5

This property has it all for those looking for a quiet retreat. We found this home to be in excellent condition with plenty of amenities. We had a party of 6 adults and there was plenty of room for all. The scenery was beautiful and the 150 acres provided us with lots of quiet privacy and plenty of long walks with sunshine and fresh mountain air! We enjoyed the hot tub under the amazing starry nights. We saw plenty of local wildlife including elk and deer as well as a bobcat that sat in front of the deck one morning. Also lots of local birds. If we visit this area again in the future we would definitely stay here again.
