I grew up going to the mountains every year. When I married my husband we spent our honeymoon there and have loved it every since. We started buying rentals homes for retirement income and decided to buy this one in the mountains, since we love this area and it had such a beautiful view..

Beautiful home and perfect location
We came to celebrate birthdays and to visit the low key attractions in the area. The house is close to the Dillard house and yet close to Franklin, NC. We visited the Foxfire museum and enjoyed getting out of the Florida heat to see the mountains. Our mornings consisted of drinking coffee on the front porch and watching the fog clear from the top of the mountains which revealed a beautiful scenery of the cows and horses grazing in the pasture below. The house had everything we needed and we felt at home. We definitely plan on coming back!
Thank you for the review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stayed and look forward to your next return.
Beautiful inside and out!
We had a lovely stay here for my cousin's wedding a couple weeks ago. The home is updated and very pretty inside, and the view from the porch is amazing! It was close to everywhere we needed to go for the rehearsal dinner/wedding and we took a trip to Dry Falls, which was awesome. All the essentials were provided and everything was clean. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back one day!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I’m so glad it was convenient for you to attend the wedding. We love sitting on the porch and taking in that view,God made some pretty country!! We hope you will be able to come back.
Overall Not BAD
The cabin itself was very nice. Though, a few things could be a little better. I would stay again. The smell from the cow farm that is at the bottom of the hill makes it unable to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee. Been around a lot of farms in my life and have never smelled one that bad. But on another note the cabin itself was very nice. Pretty much anything you need is there. The master bathroom needs a new shower head. The water hardly come out, it was a challenge to take a shower in there. The other bathroom need the shower head to be higher. It is not designed for someone over 5ft 2 inches to take a shower in.
When paying a cleaning fee like everyone else who stay here I should not have to strip the beds and take the garbage 2 miles away to a garbage can. The garbage can direction to the road were you are unable to find the place. I had to bring all my garbage home to FL with me ( good thing I brought a truck). Under the beds were very dirty and with crumbs and dust, Found a lot of cob-webs inside the house.
On another note, The beds are probably the most comfortable beds I have slept in not in my personal house. The sheets were really soft and made for a wonderful sleep. Extremely quiet area. LOVED the views of the mountains. The pictures that are on the website do no justice for the scenery. The entire area around the cabin is amazing. Defiantly eat at the Valley Café (AWESOME FOOD). Bring your own coffee (for Brew Pot) they have everything else just need the grounds.
I will defiantly stay here again. It may have seem like I was unhappy but overall the inside and the way that the cabin was defiantly trumps all of the other things. You will not be dissatisfied when you book and stay in this slice of heaven.
Thank you for your review. I apologize for the cow smell, my mom lives right beside the house and she was told that they fertilized the field in front of us with cow manure, that smell is usually not there (she even made a comment "if you get a review they would probably mention the smell" - she said it was awful at her house also), so sorry you had to deal with that - I was unaware.
The only reason I do the sheet stripping is because I sometimes have a back to back rental and it helps the cleaners get a head start in case the new renters come early. I will change the procedure to reflect that. I'm sorry for the inconvenience you had with that.
We will check out the master shower water and get that fixed and I have never taken a shower in the other bathroom so I was not aware of the height, but we will also look into changing that. Thank you for letting me know about the dirt under the beds and spiderwebs. The house is suppose to be freshened up before guest arrive.
I wish they had garbage pickup I know it is so aggravating having to take it off, I changed the check out procedures - I also have the address in case someone has a GPS for the location.
Overall, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope you will come again,
What a view!
We woke every morning and had to sit on the front porch to enjoy the view. Sitting there quietly drinking our coffee was the best part of our trip. Very peaceful. We enjoyed watching the cows and horses below in the meadow.
Barbequing at night was fun and then we would roast marshmallows in the fire pit for dessert. We also enjoyed Tallulah Gorge and zip-lining. If you are at the interpretive center of Tallulah Gorge at 8am, you can get a permit to hike the primitive trail that climbs the rocks to the sliding waterfall. We had a blast sliding down the rock over and over again. This was just what we needed to get away from work and the heat of Florida.
Thank you for your wonderful review, I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. I didn’t know about the Tallulah Gorge at 8:00, thank you I will definitely have to do that. Please come again.
We enjoyed staying at Be Still in the Hills. Our view off the front porch was beautiful. The house itself was clean, attractive and everything worked as expected. We had zero issues. Would definitely return to this house when we are back in the area.
Thank you so much for your review and for staying at Be Still In The Hills. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward for your return. The porch is my favorite also!!
