IMPORTANT UPDATE AND NOTICE TO GUESTS:
Due to torrential spring rains the overflow system on Fiddler's Cove Lake at the dam has been compromised and immediate action and repair has become necessary. Therefore the lake is being drawn down to basically a wide creek level so that the remediation process can begin. It is unknown at this time how long this restoration project will last. Therefore the nightly rate has been temporarily reduced to $195.00 per night with a minimum of a 5 night stay. The home is unaffected by this construction project and still offers many amenities desired by large family groups. Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee are both only 15 minutes from my home and offer nice beaches and boating. Pontoon boat rentals are available for both lakes and I have 2 kayaks and tubes that guests may use on these other lakes.
These were the comments from my very first guest in my home on July 1, 2017.
We absolutely loved our vacation at Fiddler’s Cove and can’t wait to go back! The host Randy is very friendly and easy to communicate with. Luckily, he is an also animal lover and allows well-behaved dogs in the house (and even on the sofa!), which we appreciated very much. It’s not easy to find a nice place to stay that allows medium-large dogs. We were greeted with pretty flowers on the table, and he made sure that the house had everything we needed for our family vacation; he even had two kayaks for us to use on the lake, which we enjoyed every day of our stay. He was reachable but otherwise left us to our vacation.
The home is spacious and comfy, and there are lovely views of the lake from the bedrooms and living areas; we particularly enjoyed the peacefulness of the rocking chairs on the back deck and the pretty sunsets in the hot tub. We had several people in our party who have trouble with stairs, so having three bedrooms on the main level was helpful. Getting around the house was easy for them otherwise, and they were still able to go down to the lower level by walking in the yard around the house. The bedrooms are nicely decorated with luxurious sheets and fluffy comforters. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals for a medium-sized group. There was plenty of space for three couples, three single adults, and four dogs – with room to spare!
The lake is peaceful and the mountain views from the lake are stunning. It felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves all week. We also enjoyed walking the road around the lake (around 2.5 miles), and the surrounding area was fantastic for several road rides. We can’t wait to return!
