About Joe & Janet Embleton
We are a retired couple that lives in WV.
Joe & Janet Embleton purchased this Mobile Home in 2016
Why Joe & Janet Embleton chose Spring Hill
Our niece and nephew bought The Manatee Hideaway across the canal from us. We went on vacation with them in 2015. We fell in love with the canal, the river, and the Nature Coast of Florida! To us, there is no better place to be! It is a quiet, but family friendly neighborhood. All of our worries, the few we have, melt away as soon as we pull into the driveway! We LOVE it here and we think you will too! There is nothing like watching the manatees play in the canal as the mullets are jumping out of the water- right in our back yard!!!
What makes this Mobile Home unique
At our Bear Spring Vacation Home, you have the benefit of being able to interact with manatees right in the canal- right off our 50 foot dock! You can fish from the dock, in the river, or in the Gulf from your own boat! Our kayaks are not permitted past Rodger's Park. Add that to being adjacent to the Weeki Wachee Springs Park, where they have the Mermaid show @ the spring head. We also enjoy Homosassa Springs Park, Howard's Flea Market, and DISNEY- an hour and a half away! You will be right where you to need to be to RELAX and have ADVENTUROUS FUN!!

The place was clean, comfortable and well located. We would rent it again if we hadn't brought our own place. Loved the kayaks.
Congratulations on your new home!!! It is easy to love the area.
We did enjoy having you our guest.

Clean, nice and peaceful
We had a very nice time at this property. We loved using the kayaks and paddle up the wiki Wachee river. We even saw a bobcat up in a tree. We ate at the Italian restaurant across the street and it was awesome. We ate at the seafood restaurant on the river and we were not impressed with that. The house had mostly everything we needed except wine glasses and there was a short supply of bath towels and kitchen towels. I had a guest bring me some. Other than that, it’s a great property and we would go back again. Thank you Janet.
We Loved it!! Spotless, convenient, quiet! We did not want to leave! Owners were so sweet to us when we had a family emergency and had to re-arrange our trip. Definitely would recommend. We will be back!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We would love to have you come back anytime.
Enjoyed our stay at this family friendly home. Lots of great things to keep the family busyz
All supplies provided to make you feel at home. Immediate response from owners when we had questions. Kitchen fully supplied with all needs and anything we needed was within quick distance. There was a strangely large amount of noise throughout the day by neighbors, traffic on the main road, and the Italian restaurant across the streets but the food was worth the noise! We are not sleepers so noises did not bother our stay at all. Saw a dozen manatees every time we kayaked, even sitting many just sitting in the back deck. Also enjoyed Animal kingdom (2 hour drive, Busch Gardens (1 hour drive), beach less than 10 minutes, and Chrystal River. To many things to do and relax. We plan on staying again to enjoy more events! Next time we want to visit Cedar Key and drive to some other state parks. Great place to centralize exploring everything in the area! Comfortable and great place for combining relaxation and a home base for exploring! Thanks for offering your home to us!
A Lovely Cottage On The Water! Manatees swam up to the dock! Had A AWESOME VACATION! DONT MISS OUT!!
We had a Wonderful Vacation at the Majestic Bear Spring Home! There was enough space for our party of six to be comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting out back by the dock or in the screened in porch. Very relaxing. Joe and Janet were right about the fish jumping up out of the water! That was really cool! A mama and baby Manatee came up to the dock one morning. We gave the mama some lettuce. They stayed around the dock for about an hour! This was our first time seeing a Manatee and the baby was so cute! It poked it's head out of the water and looked at us! My kids will not stop talking about it and had to call their friends at home to tell them about it!
We also enjoyed the kayaks. It was really fun and was good exercise going upriver, against the current. We saw a few more manatees and we also found a few beachy areas to pull off and relax for a bit. The other thing the kids discovered on the river was a platform around a bend in the river. We pulled up the kayaks so the kids could jump off of it into the river. It was only about three feet off of the water, so no big deal. They loved it and we had lunch there. A grand adventure. Joe and Janet gave us directions to make sure we went to the right at the mermaid on the point! I am glad they told us that! We would not have made it back to the house! There is a Y in the river...to the right was the way back to the house, to the left went to Rogers Park towards the Gulf of Mexico. On our second trip, we noticed a small sign that Joe had mentioned on the left of the Y that read Rogers Park <. All in all we had a really good time. We would highly recommend Joe and Janet's Bear Spring Home! Thanks Again Joe and Janet and Thanks for answering all of our questions! We will be back next year!!
We are so happy you had a wonderful time at Bear Spring. The manatees are so wonderful to be around, it is quite the experience for the children to have.
Look forward to seeing you next year.

Manatees mullets relaxing
The home was very clean. The screened porch was great to sit in. Kitchen had everthing we needed and then some. Used the kayaks almost every day. Saw alot of manatees right off the dock. Thanks Joe and Janet we will be back next year.
Plenty of local restaurants. There are several beaches within thirty minutes with Pine Island only five miles away. It is 1.5 hours to Disney and an hour to Tampa.
