1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2 NEW, Clean, and very pretty.
About Kim Tate
This is my fourth and finest vacation rental. Fourth because I enjoy hosting people and their pets. Knowing that I'm providing a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive place for vacationers is very fulfilling to me. Finest because my team has taken a 1925 structure, that was so very sad, and transformed it into something quite lovely. Through my vacation rentals I have the opportunity to meet great people from all over the globe and have fun getting to know their stories and personalities.

Why Kim Tate chose Clearwater
It was on the internet that I found this charming property with its 1925 house, HUGE yard and fabulous 200+ year old Live Oak. The tree, the moss, the white picket fence, enormous vines and ferns drew me in. Being near the water, biking, hiking, a large library and entertainment district sealed the deal. In the back of the property sat the 1925 detached garage which, over the years, had been roughly made into a living space. An avid re modeler, the potential was easy to see so I found a great licensed contractor and together we re plumbed, rewired, reconfigured and completely renewed this private, charming space. Now it's pretty, plush, clean and comfortable: a sparkling gem set on a lush lot with the feeling of "Old Florida". One large room with high ceilings pulls together the kitchen, dining room and living room so there is this big open feel to the area. Great lighting, air conditioning and a big ceiling fan ensure that the space is comfortable for reading, computer work, TV, and more. I love the bedroom with the new Sealy Posturepedic and soft, plush bedding. Between the two dressers, walk-in closet, and storage closet, there is plenty of space for your things. Also, there is a weather-tight, walk-in clean shed on the patio for storing your luggage and other incidentals you bring. Which reminds me, inside of the shed is everything you will need for the beach (chairs, umbrella, etc.) and bicycles with helmets so you can get out and enjoy the famous Pinellas Trail which is accessible from my neighborhood. I LOVE THIS PROPERTY! I know you will too! Call me, let's talk: 928-925-9158 Bye for now!

Our home for a month in a cozy cottage close to everything.
Kim, the owner, greeted us upon arrival. She gave us a quick orientation to the cottage and neighborhood. We knew from our first impression that we were going to enjoy our stay here for a month. We had our own parking space in the driveway. We entered through a gate which leads you to the cottage on a beautiful little walkway. Every time I went through that gate I loved seeing how cute our place was. We sat outside with our coffee in the morning and listened to the birds sing and watch the little lizards scurry around in the garden. We grilled outside many times but weren't able to eat dinner outside because large black flies wanted to join us. A screened in patio could take care of that. The cottage was comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white linens and a cozy comforter. A shed is on the premises for our use. The owner provided bicycles, although we brought our own and stored them in the shed, and beach chairs and beach umbrella. Having access to the Pinellas Bike Trail was a plus. We rode our bikes almost everyday on the trail. Only 2 miles to Dunedin. We did however take the car to the beaches. Indian Rocks being our favorite. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything. Kim is a wonderful host. Her home and the cottage is on the same property, but she respects your privacy. We just can't say enough about how great this place is.
Dear Marcie and Ed,
Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. I'm glad you enjoyed the cottage and the location. Thank you for letting me know about your patio dining experience. I'll start some remedies right away. It was a pleasure having the two of you as my guests.
GREAT property & hostess
The property is great. Close to everything. Trolley available less than a block away to get you where you want to go. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. I guess the only couple of things that kind of bugged me was that it took FOREVER to get hot water and that the water pressure was pretty low. Not sure if that's a Florida thing???
Kim was very friendly and accommodating and her dogs are the cutest. I would definitely stay here again and recommend.
Thank you Glenda for sharing your thoughts! You and Ed were terrific guests. Eva the dog misses you dearly. :) The plumber is coming tomorrow for the water. Thanks for letting me know.
Fantastic Experience At Bertie's Nest!
Wow! What an incredible, fun, guest house! We loved our month living at Bertie's Nest. Kim was helpful and most professional. She was detailed oriented making sure everything was in order and the guest house was in excellent condition. We loved riding bikes she provided on the, 1 minute away, Pinellas Trail. We often strolled down the street to watch the beautiful sunset on Clearwater Harbor. She provided us beach chairs, an umbrella and beach towels for the beach . The mattress on the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Guest house is well equipped with excellent furnishings including a Cuisinart salad spinner, which I am now shopping for one of my own. We enjoyed picking fresh basil from the yard, which is beautifully landscaped. Our dog especially liked the large fenced yard. We had fun swinging on the porch swing which hangs from a tree limb, having morning coffee on the porch, and grilling brats on the gas grill. Loved this place!
Thank you so very much for taking the time to review Bertie's Nest!
You two and Buddy were the best guests ever! I hope this reply finds you happy, healthy, and snuggled into a new home. Wishing you and Buddy, THE BEST!
Great tucked away place.
Owner was very organized and the place had everything I needed to enjoy my 2 week stay. Location was centrally located to many great places. Recommend to anyone over any hotel in the area.
Outstanding Value/Gracious Host
Steve S., Spring Lake, MI
I stayed at Bertie's Nest with my dog (who also loved the place) for the month of April; and everything written about this gem of a cottage by previous guests, especially Linda C., is absolutely true. I would only add that the average daily rate of $45 is an absolute steal. You won't find anything remotely comparable in Dunedin or Clearwater Beach for at least four times the price; and none of those places come with a host as gracious and caring as Kim. The only reason there aren't dozens of glowing reviews (and there will be) is that this property has been open for business for less than a year, and the minimum stay is 30 days.
Your glowing report is greatly appreciated! My friends tease me saying my pride of ownership is extreme when it comes to caring for Bertie's Nest. Feedback like yours tells me I'm right on the mark. Love it! My best to you, Kay and Riley.
A perfect, private getaway
My husband and I stayed at Bertie's Nest for the months of February and March 2018. If you are like us, and you don't like the noise, traffic and people found at most condo complexes, this little cottage is for you. It's private, located in a quiet residential neighborhood, is fenced in, and is perfect for a couple. The entire inside is newly renovated. It has a new full kitchen, well stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, silverware and utensils, and everything else you need if you like to cook. There are two large flat screen TV's in the living area and bedroom that come with every channel you would ever want, and the internet and wireless were fast. Kim even provides a printer if you need to print out tickets or anything else. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and enough closet and dresser storage for everything you bring. The bathroom has a roomy shower and hot water on demand so you won't run out and a closet to hold all your bathroom articles. The stacked washer and dryer are new and handle full laundry loads. The patio is lovely and includes a very nice grill and patio table and chairs. The best part for us was the two bicycles provided with the cottage. It is just a block off the Pinellas Bike Trail and two miles from either Dunedin or downtown Clearwater, so we biked almost every day, to restaurants, breweries or the ice cream shop!. The intracoastal waterway is just two blocks away for a nice stroll or bike ride, but if you want the beach, both Clearwater Beach and Honeymoon Island are only about 5 miles away. Kim has stocked the cottage with the little things too, like extra light bulbs and batteries, and beach towels, and because she lives in the house just steps away from the cottage, she responds immediately to any issues you might have. We needed a pump for the sofa bed air mattress and some ink for the printer, and had to fix a sticky door lock, and all were cheerfully supplied within hours if not minutes. The queen size sofa bed can accommodate a third person staying in the cottage for a short time, but it is cramped as the living area and kitchen are one big room. But if you want to entertain friends, the patio is lovely for an outdoor meal or drinks with plenty of room. We loved our stay there and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
Come enjoy our amazing BEACHES! Less than 4 miles away is CLEARWATER BEACH. Known for the crystal clear water and the white, soft, "sugar" sand that stretches for 36 miles, Clearwater Beach is consistently voted as one of the top US beaches. In addition to Nature's gift, beauties of the manmade kind also make Clearwater Beach attractive day and night for the young and not-so. Restaurants, bars, live entertainment, playgrounds, pools and water-sport rentals are available for the whole family. No one can say "I'm bored" here at Clearwater Beach. Now, here's a great tip from this local.......STAY AWAY from the traffic and parking nightmares of Clearwater Beach by staying at Bertie's Nest and taking the Jolley Trolley to the beach. Four doors down, you can hop on Jolley Trolley and ride it to the Clearwater Ferry only 1.5 miles away. Taking the Ferry to Clearwater Beach is the quickest and most scenic way to reach the beach. AND, don't forget, a beach umbrella, beach chairs, towels and cooler are included in your stay.
If Clearwater Beach sounds too crazy and commercial then head north 7 miles to beautiful HONEYMOON ISLAND STATE PARK. This park is your finest back-to-nature beach experience. Yes there are clean flush toilets, showers and a nice snack bar but other than that, it's just you and Mother Nature enjoying this beach experience. So no commercial buildings or businesses. There is also a section of Honeymoon Island that is designated for dogs and their families. Your dogs must be leashed but it's still fun to splash, play, and hangout on the beach.
