This Historic property started its life after the turn of the Century as a 2 room boarding house and stable around 1910. We have been told that over the last 100 years it was added on to by different owners about 4 times.
After our purchase in October 2016 we began by gutting and rebuilding from the inside out but kept floor plan, with no additions. The original floors were kept where ever possible and they were refinished by a local craftsman. We asked him to please leave all the bumps, scrapes, bruises and variety of colors intact. Just love all that history under our feet.
The home is about 1100 sq. ft. under roof. We removed the 3rd bedroom and transformed it into a master bath and extended the living room space. Yes that’s right we have 2 bathrooms!
We opened our doors May 2017, so please contact us to book your stay and enjoy all
that the Twin Lakes area can offer! Not sure what is going on in the area check this link.
Besides the Majestic World Class Trout fishing White River...yes we love it a lot.... :) We also have
Lake Bull Shoals, Lake Norfork, the Buffalo River and the North Fork River. Our area is rich with fresh clean water. We have fast food restaurants, sit down dining, fine dining, antique stores galore, 5 grocery chains, 2 Super Walmart's, 2 movie theaters, entertainment for children and families activities, and a whole lot more.
We are located in the town of Cotter which is the North Central part of Arkansas in the Ozarks Mountains just about 15 miles south of the Missouri State line. Cotter has a rich history that I will be adding for you history buffs on our new web site for Our Cotter Cabin but unfortunately I cannot share that link with you on this site, but we are confident you will be able to find it on your own. :)

THE place to stay in Cotter
I had a buddy stay here a couple months ago and speak really highly of it. So I booked, and man, am I glad I did.
Two buddies and I stayed here over the weekend, and it's the PERFECT size for such a group. Two bedrooms and a comfortable pull-out bed. A nice-sized kitchen with every utensil you need. A large back patio with an awesome grill. And an enormous front deck with chairs and room to sit back and shoot the breeze while you plan your fishing day.
To top it all off, the hosts -- Linda and Bob -- are a pleasure to deal with. Bob showed us the ropes at check-in, and Linda was kind enough to follow up with me to make sure everything went well.
There's plenty of room to park a boat or even two, you can walk to the fly shop or the restaurants across the street and the boat ramp is a short drive or stroll away.
I couldn't have asked for more out of this house, and I'll absolutely be back.
Once again, thumbs way up for Cotter Cabin!
This place is fantastic!

Our property is in the heart of Historic Cotter Arkansas. You can walk to White Sands Restaurant and Worrier Station for a good burger or breakfast buffet. Also you can visit our 1932 famous Rainbow Bridge and get some great photography of the river and more.
Big Spring park is about 3/10 mile from the house. It features a playground, pavilion, the Railroad park with train cars on display. Boat launch area for your flat bottom fishing boats and of course the famous and ancient Big Spring. This is an area that has had fresh water bubbling up from deep in the earth for eons. Indian artifacts show that it has always been a gathering place for indigenous peoples. In summer the brave use the rope on a girder to "Tarzan Swing" into the ice cold spring water. People bring the family and a picnic lunch and enjoy each other and one of the most beautiful cold water springs in the Ozarks. Also you can rent a boat from the Cotter Trout dock if you don't have one to bring along.
In times of normal water level there is a "gravel bar beach" located just south of Big Spring railroad park. Look to the left of the box cars for a white pipe fence. Then find the blue bridge and cross to the tree lined path. This beach is only usable during normal water conditions. There are no lifeguards so use at your own risk. Make sure to bring a beach towel and a picnic lunch wear water shoes you will most probably be walking thru a low water spot. This is one of the nicest gravel beaches in the area. Enjoy the sunshine, find just the right rock to bring home they are very different and cool shapes.
Also, as you visit the gravel bar beach, you have a view of the White River, fishermen and the majestic bluffs directly across the water. Bring your camera and your fishing pole for some wade in fly fishing. Be careful the water is cold and fast. Make sure you have a buddy on shore to assist you if need be.
Please be aware of 2 things while visiting our natural wonders. Leave the beach the way you found it, pick up and take any trash with you. And watch for changing water levels. If you place something near the waters edge upon your arrival and that level changes...time to walk home. This is nature and we want you to enjoy your visit but be courteous and smart!
