Experience tranquility (no roads). It is truly paradise, with nature at its best including three species of monkeys, scarlet macasw, blue morphos butterflies, toucans, and more right outside your doors. Access to the amenities of Drake Bay's leading private resort, La Paloma Lodge are included. They will meet you in Drake Bay and transfer you across the bay by boat first to the resort, then to the La Paloma Luxury Beach House, which is a 10-15 minute hike through a shaded rainforest trail allonside the ocean, or a short boat ride to the landing beach. Due to the natural, hilly trail and a series of steps winding up to the house from the beach, it is not recommended for persons that need assistance.
ABOUT THE HOUSE
The residence was designed by Costa Rica's leading architect, Ronald Zurcher (Four Season's Hotel). Three ensuite air-conditioned bedrooms include a master suite with an indigenous teak floor, marble bathroom, wraparound teak balcony, and an extra outdoor shower. (Only the bedrooms are air-conditioned). The second master suite for guests is in a separate pavilion that offers couples maximum privacy. The living area has 18' high teak ceilings and includes a social area, a gourmet granite kitchen, and walls that can be opened to flow into a spacious terrace perfect for dining, wildlife sighting, and ocean views. A romantic hibiscus-canopied stairway leads down to two golden sand beaches that include a cave and natural jetty with panoramic views of mountains and the bay. Cocalito Beach, Drake Bay's most beautiful beach, is a short walk away.
TOURS, TRANSPORTATION, AND MEALS
Tours, transportation options, and meals can be arranged through the concierge services provided by La Paloma Lodge. The meal options are customized to meet your needs: Dine at the La Paloma Clubhouse, or their delicious meals can be delivered to your door, or groceries can be pre-ordered to have stocked in the kitchen for your own creations. You can also bring your own food, or visit small restaurants in the village. Food, tours, and transportation options are priced separately.
La Paloma concierge will also assist in booking the following rours and activities: Corcovado National Park at Sierena Station or San Pedrillo, Cano Island for snorkel or scuba dive, Horseback riding, Birding, Sport fising, Whales and Dolphintours, Mangrove Tour, Night Hike, and Canopy Tours. All tours are with the area's best and most knowldegable guildes. Additional amenities can include a Romance Package to celebrate a honeymoon or anniversary, or enjoy the sand, surf and sunset with a Late Afternoon Picnic on a secluded beach with beach chairs or blanket, appetizers for 2, and wine or beverage of choice. You can enjoy the afternoon paddling in the complimentary kayaks, take an adventurous hike, or relax by the pool with a book, or play in the surf with complimentary boogie boards.
WHERE WE ARE
We are located on the Drake Bay Hiking Trail, which can be followed fo rmiles along the ocean, past remote boutique hotels, Calitas Beach, and Corcovado National Park's San Pedrillo Ranger Station. Cano Island can be seen offshore, and seasonal humpback whales can often be sighted leaping into the air.
Walking or boating is the mode of transportation once you are here. From the Luxury Beach House, twice daily boat transfers to Drake Bay Village (a 10-minute ride), or to Sierpe (an hour ride) can be arranged. The hike to Drake Bay Village takes an hour and winds through an amazing rainforest up and down hills and over a storybook swinging bridge. Good physical condition is recommended.

Getting here: We can help you with your transportation. Various options are available: BY AIR: Sansa and Nature Air have dailyh flights to Drake Bay from San Jose. BY LA PALOMA LODGE SHARED BAN SERVICE: an air-conditioned 6 passenger van will pick you up will pick you up at your hotel in the Central Valley and travel through scenic areas along the coastline to the picturesque town of Sierpe. From there you will take a one hour boat trip by water=taxi down the enchanting Sierpe River to the ocean and Drake Bay Lodge. BY CAR: If you have a rental car, you can drive to Sierpe and safely store your car there and take the water=taxi to La Paloma Lodge, which is the easiest way by car. Or, you can drive to Drake Bay Village and safely leave your car there.
