About Doug Speers
My name is Doug Speers. I grew up in nearby Penticton, and have lived in Summerland, Kelowna, Westbank, Nelson, and now Peachland. My wife, Debbie and I moved to Peachland last fall with the plan of having a vacation rental. We bought a home with one of the most spectacular views we've ever seen. After living in a thickly forested area for 18 years, sitting on the deck in the morning with a coffee can't help but put a smile on your face. Come, stay and enjoy.

Beautiful setting, spacious apartment
A lovely place to stay, very well equipped and comfortable. Doug is a great host, leaving us a bottle of wine on arrival and supplying us with home grown grapes which were delicious. The surrounding area is full of good walking opportunities and stunning views. It would have been easy to spend many more days there than the 4 we had planned. Thoroughly recommend this place!
Thank you for the lovely review Jane. It was a pleasure to have you and your husband at our place. I wish you both the best.
Beautiful view, kind hosts, lovely neighborhood
Doug and Debbie were good hosts and the spacious lower level unit is comfortable and has great views of the lake. Doug kindly provided us with fresh grapes from the back yard and their dog Darcy was occasionally a friendly visitor when we sat on the deck. The lower deck has a grill and is a very relaxing place to rest and relax. The unit is very roomy, however we did find that the a/c unit ran a lot, keeping the lower level a bit too cool. It is also a bit noisy, and could bother light sleepers, as the a/c room is located next to the bedroom. Peachland was a great spot to visit, and the nearby beaches were a nice change of pace.
Beautiful vacation spot in Peachland!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property in Peachland! Doug and Debbie were gracious hosts, and provided information about some of the unique sights to see in the area. We also got some great tips on where to find the best fruit at the best prices! It was a beautiful and spacious suite, well-stocked, with a gorgeous view...loved that we could pick wild blackberries along the road nearby! Thanks for everything...it was wonderful!
Thanks for the nice review Bernadine. It was a pleasure having the two of you here.
Great place and hospitality!
Had a wonderful time in Peachland. Doug was a wonderful host and the serenity of the lake view on deck as well as all amenities made for a great getaway. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore wine country in the Okanagan. Thank you for your hospitality Doug!
Thank you Holly and Tim. It was a pleasure having the two of you here.
Lovely setting, gracious hosts, a bit noisy sleeping in summer for those who are noise sensitive
The photos on the site were a good indication of what we found, a great view of Lake Okanagan in the basement of a backsplit house, with a walkout to its own deck, a couple of streets above the main highway. The apartment was spacious and well equipped with appliances. Our hosts Doug and Debbie left a bottle of wine to greet us. They were available if needed but not intrusive. We used the barbeque provided on several nights and enjoyed the sunsets and the numerous quail which appeared out of the hedge and ran around on the back lawn beneath our deck. Darcy, their dog, often came for a friendly visit during our time on the deck, but was only allowed to do it because we said that we liked dogs. The location was great for visiting various parts of the Okanagan as Peachland is fairly central in the valley. Guests who come in the summer, if they are noise sensitive, should be aware that part of the air-conditioning system and the hot water tank are located in a closet next to the bedroom, and these make noise during the night, not a problem if you are a sound sleeper. We would certainly recommend this spot for anyone wanting a base to use while exploring the Okanagan.
It's a nice place with a very nice view of the lake. Warm welcome and the host pay attention to ensure that we have all we need. They brought some peaches and plum for us. Very good location
