About Steve & Kathy Brooks
We love to host and please our guests. Old Town San Diego is our passion and we spend a lot of time here. Our careers were with the local telephone company and after retirement we started our work in real estate. It's great to be a part of this community preserving the history in owning our piece of America's Finest City!
Steve & Kathy Brooks purchased this House in 2016
Why Steve & Kathy Brooks chose Old Town
The location! It's perfect for; convenience, beauty, history, art, and fun! Directly across the street from the Old Town San Diego State park which has shops, museums, restaurants, and even a blacksmith shop! (This is Old Town!)! So many of our guests who are trying vacation rentals for the first time are now convinced to choose us over hotels for future visits! Read our reviews! You really can walk to the transit center in 6 minutes to ride the San Diego Trolley, The Coaster Train, or the Amtrak Train. Taxis and buses are also here. Restaurants, shopping, museums, and more, are all at your doorstep. While at your comfortable home away from home, you can enjoy the large furnished patio, barbecue for yourself or friends & family, watch Netflix Videos, or relax and get a good nights rest on the comfortable pillow top queen bed. Extra guests can also enjoy the Serta Queen Sleeper that was comfort tested before we chose it for you! The kitchen and the rest of the house are well equipped and ready for you to plan your next trip to Beautiful and fun Sundiego! We have a laundry room and bicycles too! More guests are starting to use the BBQ and relax on the patio deck- there's so much to do here or just do nothing, it's your choice!

Very clean and comfortable. Close to many restaurants and easy access to the hop on hop off trolley. We’d stay here again.
This is a cute, perfectly located property. Extremely clean and super friendly and helpful owners. It was so relaxing to stay in our home away from home! Thank you!
When they say Old Town State Park is steps away, THEY MEAN IT! Location was fabulous. House was very clean and had plenty of amenities. The owners were very friendly and easily accessible. We enjoyed our stay. The Casita gets 5 stars from us!
Thank you! Please come back again soon!
The house is perfect! It is super close to the trolley station and easy to get around.
The hosts are excellent communicators and helped in every way! I would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for choosing us and we look forward to your next visit!
Great stay at the Casita!
This place is very well situated in Old Town just a few steps from shops, restaurants and some very quaint and interesting houses and museums. We had fun strolling through old town, shopping and visiting all the local attractions. We went to the Whaley House - fascinating!, the Sheriff’s museum (got my picture taken on a police bike!). There is a great little store with a model railway which was fun. We took the trolley tour - very entertaining, and visited USS Midway aircraft carrier - great day out, despite the rain. The trolley dropped us off just steps from the Cosy Casita. Owners checked in with us to make sure everything was OK and were very helpful when we lost Netflix temporarily. They fixed the problem! Heaters were great for chilly evenings. There was some noise from trains and planes, but it wasn’t too bad and I think it added to the ambiance! It didn’t keep us awake and we slept well in the very comfortable bed. A grab handle in the shower would have been useful, as we are in our sixties and getting a little shaky! I mentioned this to owner, and he said they will have one installed 👍🏻for our next visit! The Casita is clean and has everything that you would require. We went to Ralph’s nearby for milk and snacks. Our last evening we ate at the New Orleans Creole Cafe - a hidden gem near the Whaley House. Very small, about six tables. There is a long wait for service, but it is worth it. If you are not in a hurry, have dinner here, the food is wonderful! Try the shrimp Creole! Thanks to the Brooks for a great stay!
Thank you for the great review! We had the same experience at the Creole Cafe. Great food, loooong waits. We had the crawfish etoufee'! We love old town too!
We had an enjoyable stay at the casita - restful and relaxing!
We found the casita to be an ideal location for visiting San Diego. It was clean and well-maintained and conveniently located across the street from the Old Town Historic Park where there were many interesting exhibits and museums. We were also happy to find Immaculate Conception Church within a short walk with a convenient Mass schedule. We had breakfast each day at the casita before heading out and ate several dinners at Hungry's and Bella Pizza all with walking distance. The Hop on Hop Off Trolley took us to many interesting locations. This was a truly relaxing vacation.
Thanks for the great review! That means a lot to us! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay!
